Navy Blue and Nude Stripes

Happy Friday my loves! My nails are so sad these days, my nail polish is still somewhat packed up so I have had naked nails for like 4 days! But it's also so gorgeous outside, these first few "real days of fall" have been beautiful, so I've also spent a lot of time on my porch, enjoying the autumn sun and a book.

A while ago, Marta posted this amazing striped manicure and I commented how I LOVED it and that I needed striping tape, and because Marta is amazing, she sent me a roll of striping tape. My first attempt is kind of messy but I still love striping tape. I used a base of Misa Pay Days Are Happy Days, and striped with Zoya Ibiza. I love navy and nude as a combo, and I will have to try striping something again, maybe I'll have some more accuracy!

Happy Friday! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend <3

Pink Leopard

Happy Fall Loves! It's officially Pumpkin Spice Latte season ;) haha! Even though I've only been back at work for a few weeks it has TOTALLY thrown off my schedule, and then add in hosting a couple of community events, helping my mom paint, a funeral and now packing up my entire room so we can get new carpets in the upstairs of my house, fall has been busy! I'm trying to get back into my blogging schedule, I have a new top coat (yay Glossy Glam!) so I'll be painting my nails more regularly!

This manicure is from a month ago (sorry) when I was completely uninspired. I went to one of my go-to's, pink, and animal print. I forgot about the saran wrap technique, so I decided to jazz up this manicure with some metallic colours.

The base is Essie Watermelon, I saran wrap sponged a sally hansen chrome silver and pink, and stamped with konad m57 leopard print.

I'm looking forward to some more 'seasonally-appropriate manicures', although my fall colour selection is seriously lacking!

Thanks for reading, sorry I have been MIA <3

NCLA Malibu Beach Babe

Happy Thursday my loves! I'm having a busy busy week and I'm so excited it's almost the weekend. The local community here is having a "Harvest Festival" this Saturday which has lots of booths, usually giving away some kind of "fall" food, so I can't wait to walk around and eat!

Katie, from Harlow & Co sent me some polishes to review, as you saw the KBShimmer the other day, and she also sent me a gorgeous NCLA polish and a set of their nail wraps. I'll review the wraps later, but FYI they are just as fantastic as their polish.

Malibu Beach Babe is a gorgeous creme polish, described as "an ultra rich creme" and is inspired by the scenery of the Pacific Coast Highway. I think this polish sums up everything I love about teal, and it is what I would consider rich, not dusty like most teals. I am loving this for fall because it's still vibrant and gorgeous but more muted than summer colours! The formula was fantastic and it took 2 easy coats and NO staining, so yay!

*This polish was sent to me for an honest review*

NCLA polishes are available on their website or on Harlow & Co's website. I have 2 of the summer collection polishes and if you don't have any NCLA yet, you need to invest. I am loving "The Spa Comes to Me!" and "My Dad Invented That!" and they are coming home to live with me when my first paycheque arrives! Make sure you follow Katie on twitter (@harlowandco) and on instagram (HarlowandCo) to stay up to date with restocks & sneak peeks of new polishes!

Thanks for reading loves! <3

KBShimmer Vicious Circles

Happy Tuesday Loves! I hope you're all enjoying September and fall as it is slowly making its presence known, at least it was around here. Today however, it's back to around 33 degrees Celsius ..I think summer is still trying to remind us it's still here!

However, to usher in fall, I have one of KBShimmer's gorgeous new fall polishes to show you today. I love the name, because it brings back some family memories. One of my cousins was in a fairly successful band around Ontario back in..the early 2000's I believe, and they were poised to do quite well and their name was Vicious Circle. Sadly they broke up, and now my cousin is 35 and has 2 kids, + 1 on the way so all's well that ends well.

So, segue aside, Vicious Circles is a gorgeous blood red jelly polish filled with tiny bar glitter, micro hex glitter and circle glitter! Ahh you guys, the circle glitter is AMAZING. I have never had a polish with circle glitter but I don't know how I lived without it. The formula on this polish is also amazing, you'd think that with all the glitter and the jelly finish you'd need lots of coats, however I found that 2 coats of polish sufficed. I did use the "glitter dabbing" method a bit to make it work, but that's mostly because I was impatient! You could do 2 or 3 thin coats and it would be beautiful, opaque and the glitter wouldn't get lost on the nail.

*This product was sent to me for the purpose of an unbiased review*

I had to use some of my mom's fall flowers for a backdrop in the last photo!

KBShimmer is available at Harlow & Co, and Katie will be restocking her KBShimmer's soon, you can stay up to date on her twitter page or on instagram as @harlowandco! Every Nook & Cranberry and Excuse Me, I Blurped are my 2 other favourites from this collection!

You can also get KBShimmer in the states from their website.

Thanks for reading & have a great day :) <3

Zoya Blaze

Happy Thursday Loves! I love that this week is a short week, I don't know what it is, but I've been really exhausted/not feeling well lately, so even though I'm glad to be back at work, I'm happy for this short week to ease me back into the daily grind.

So, after I went camping a few weeks ago, I cracked a couple of nails, so I had to shorten my nails down.  I think my nails are too brittle, I need to find a good roller ball cuticle oil. I need one to throw in my purse so I remember to use it all the time.

I wanted something bright and fun on my shorter nails, and so again, I came upon a holographic polish. Zoya Blaze is from last year's holiday collection and man I love it. It's a raspberry pink toned scattered holographic polish and...I just have no words. Just stare and love it.

I hope Zoya brings out finishes like this at Christmas this year, because last year they knocked it out of the park!

Thanks for reading & have a fantastic Thursday <3

A-England Lady of the Lake

Happy Tuesday and Happy Back to School (if you're going back to school!) I might not be working today but thankfully I will be starting work up again this week, and I can't wait for this school year to start!

Today's post will be short and simple, if you follow me on twitter, you'll have read that this past weekend I had some sort of illness...and so I'm still sort of drained and thankful that my supply teaching isn't into full swing yet this week!

I wanted a quick and simple manicure, and so I reached for one of the gems in my collection, A-England Lady of the Lake. This polish is all the things I love: purple, holographic, a gorgeous bottle AND a flawless formula. I haven't worn this since I've grown my nails out and I think it looks so beautiful on long nails.

A-England is available through A-England's website if you're in the UK, or you can check this page to see 'Where to Buy' for other countries. If you're Canadian you can get them from Nail Polish Canada

And, if you haven't already, Nail Polish Canada is up for Canadian 'Best E-Tailer', so go here & vote! You can vote every day & NPC has daily prize packs PLUS they'll be hosting a huge giveaway if they win!
