Inspired by a Dress (or 2)

Happy Thursday my loves. I'm slowly getting ready to go back to work (although it will probably be a few more weeks until I start working consistently) and this week I've been trying to start waking up earlier ( my call time is 6am)..I hate it. I have gotten so used to sleep this summer..even when I go to bed at 10pm...6 am is just not working for me!

So this past weekend I had a dilemma. I had a wedding to go to on Saturday and a baby shower at my house on Sunday, and I would have NO time to change my nails between events. My 2 dresses were both in the same colour family, but fairly different. I had no I took to twitter and obviously Marta, the queen of inspiration for me, suggested a diagonal gradient. I didn't end up having the time to try that but I did manage a 3 colour gradient with stamping over top. I used a base of Essie Turquoise & Caicos, then Essie Lapis of Luxury, and OPI Dating a Royal. Then I stamped over top with a leopard print (to match the leopard print in 1 dress) with Sally Hansen Silver Sweep. I took pictures with my 2 dresses so you can see how the manicure matched!

I think it worked out well & thank goodness I have Marta to always give me ideas ;)

Summer Skittlette

Happy Friday loves! I don't know how it's been a week already, sorry to leave you all hanging. This week has passed by in a flash and my weekend is pretty packed as well. I have a wedding to go to on Saturday and a baby shower being thrown at my house on Sunday, so today is full of prep for the baby shower!

I don't do to many of these style of manicures, but Marta is always coming up with gorgeous 'skittlette' manicures! She even wrote a post (here) on how to create one. I'm always inspired by her nails and Marta is the reason I continually feel the need to add more stamping plates to my collection! Since I've been playing with the chevron bundle monster stamp, I decided to try my hand at a 'skittlette' manicure. My index is Essie Come Here, my pinky and thumb is China Glaze Passion and then my middle and ring are a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls with the BM image stamped in Cult Nails Nevermore. I guess it's not a true skittlette because I don't have a glitter/texture polish in there but oh well!

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and Thanks for reading <3

Black & White & Sparkles

Happy Friday my dears! I'm leaving this weekend for a little family camping getaway and I'm excited. My extended family is all going to be there and the weather is supposed to be gorgeous, so I can't wait.

I have a quick post, so I'll get right into it! I'm still dying for the day that someone will produce a true, large chevron print stamp. I saw someone's manicure recently with one, but it was curved and..I don't's still not it. So, if you make stamping plates, call me! I have an idea!

Anyways, in my quest for chevrons, I always whip out my BM stamp, and today I was just craving a simple black & white chevron print. I used Cult Nails Nevermore, then to add some pizzazz, I added a layer of China Glaze White cap, then stamped it with my konad special white polish!

Happy Weekend guys! Hope you're all doing something fun & thanks for reading <3

Neon and Gold

Happy Tuesday Loves! I hope everyone's week got off to a wonderful start. It's supposed to warm up as the week goes on and I'm hoping we get some great weather by the weekend. My extended family are going camping this weekend and I want some sunshine and good time.

I'm sure this kind of polish combination is getting old, but it's all I want these days. I keep gravitating towards these combinations. I barely wear this polish, mostly because I hate the name. Nina Ultra Pro Punki Pink. UGH.'s terrible. It actually keeps me from wearing this polish because I forget the name on purpose! I paired it with OPI Sparke de Triomphe. My camera makes this polish seem like it's glowing, but trust me it's just plain neon, not glowing like my camera seems like.

Happy Tuesday Loves!

Technical Difficulties!

Happy Sunday Everyone!

So I had a post all lined up and had edited my photos when my computer died yesterday. It took my photos and will no longer connect to the internet :(.

So sadly because the photos are no longer on my iphone I don't have the post for you any longer.
I will include this one quick snap I took this morning! I love this stamp even if its uneven. I used Finger Paints Michael Tangelo and Cult Nails Fetish to stamp!

Sorry about the rough cuticles but I am loving this manicure.

Hopefully next week I can figure out a computer situation!!

Blue and Gold

Happy Saturday loves! Woohoo, I am done my online course. This weekend I plan on relaxing, enjoying the sun and relishing in the fact that I have NOTHING to do for 3ish weeks until I start working again when school starts up. I am enjoying that feeling!

I have a quick manicure for you today, nothing special, I'm pretty bored with my manicures lately because I'm over my stamping plates. I definitely need some new sets, maybe PUEEN and one of the GALS! This is Sally Hansen Blue It, stamped with China Glaze Passion. I love these 2 shades together!

I hope you're all having a great Saturday. My life is so uneventful these days, I'm just trying to enjoy the small things :)

Purple and Matte

Happy Thursday my loves! I am so happy it's almost the weekend because tomorrow my online course officially finishes and I am free. It's been a long 8 weeks, and while I've enjoyed it, I don't think I'll be taking another AQ course in the near future. I still feel like I haven't officially left school, even though it's been a year and a half and this course kept reminding me of that feeling!

Today's manicure is actually inspired by an "inspired by" post. Marta of ChitChat Nails posted this manicure which was inspired by this instagram post (@glamsusie) I was dying to try this out. I opted to change the colour because I've been craving pastel purples lately, so I used NCLA As If! and then stamped with a BM plate of roses, and my konad plate for the dots, because my free hand dots never seem to turn out quite what I want them to look like. I mattified it using NYC matte top coat. Sadly my NYC matte topcoat is NOT what I want in a matte. It never fully dried matte, it still seems to hold somewhat of a sheen and on several nails (including my index in the photos) it created weird lumps :( So, any recommendations of a favourite matte top coat?

I still think I like Marta & Susan's versions better, so I'll have to retry, maybe I'll actually do pink & black!

Essie Naughty Nautical

Happy Sunday Everybody!

How have you been doing! I am sorry for my absence lately, I just...really hated my nails last week, I didn't think they looked very nice at all :( so I scrapped posting. SORRY!

Anyways this week I have a polish from the Essie Summer collection, Naughty Nautical, a sea green polish with shimmer. The shimmer is much more muted than the other shimmers in this collection but it is beautiful!

This was 2 coats, I could've gone for a 3rd maybe...maybe thinner? but I love this polish so much! It's topped with Essie's Good to Go.

On to the pictures!

Ignore my dry fingers sorry :(

Full sunlight
I hope you enjoyed the photos, I am LOVING this collection! Also I will be heading to Australia in the near future so if you have any travel advice or places to see/do or things to buy, let me know! <3 Enjoy your long weekend Canadians!

Silver Leopard

Happy Saturday my loves! It's a long weekend here in Canada, and while that doesn't really affect me since I'm not working, it's still nice. The only sad part about it is the count down to September is now on :(!

I'm sort of in a nail polish rut, I don't really like any of my colours, and I don't like any of my stamping plates. I really want the PUEEN stamping plates when they are back in stock on Harlow & Co, and I'm awaiting 2 Illamasqua polishes I purchased a while ago and I hope these things break me out of my rut!

To keep it simple, I used Sally Hansen Silver Sweep, stamped it with konad m57 leopard print and topped it with China Glaze Fairy Dust.

Is it sad that for the rest of the summer, I just want to wear neons? I just might...
