Pink and Glitter

Happy Wednesday my loves! It is officially the last day of July and only a bit more than month until I'm (hopefully) back to work! I can't believe summer is half over! Yesterday I went for my first ever facial and massage, thanks to a gift certificate my boyfriend bought for a local spa, and guys, I am a-d-d-i-c-t-ed now! It was so heavenly, I can totally see why people splurge on them! I'd go once a week if I could.

So, even though summer is half over, I'm still in the bright and sparkly mood! So, obviously I'd be wearing pink and glitter with accent nails. I'm wearing Misa Sandals, Flip-Flops and Hip Hop, and China Glaze I'm Not Lion. I seriously love I'm Not Lion so much!

I need to wear this pink more often, and put it on my toes..I love it.

Shimmer Polish Marilyn

Happy Monday Loves! Starting this week I'm in the final 2 weeks of my online course and then in addition to my current High School qualifications, I'll be legally qualified to teach Cooperative Education! Woo! Now Ontario teachers need to retire so there will be a spot for me! ;)

My final installment to the beautiful Shimmer polish showcase is Shimmer polish Marilyn! I am a secret red lover, I rarely wear red..but I LOVE red polishes and red glitters, like China Glaze Ruby Pumps and Essie Ruby Slippers are treasures in my collection. I think I am now adding Marilyn to that category. A dark burgundy-red microglitter polish, this beauty glows and I love it. The glitter is so dark that when applying it, it almost looks like black glitter mixed with red, but once you put this baby in the sun, b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l! This is 3 easy coats, it flowed like butter and it was easy to correct mistakes and didn't flood or stain my cuticles, like red polish often does!

Once again, I'm so honoured that Cindy wanted me to review some of her polishes & I hope you all now have a HUGE wishlist of her polishes to try. I definitely need Wendy, Gerry and Caroline! *Sigh* my glitter addiction is only fueled with Cindy's gorgeous creations!

Cindy's Shimmer Polish Etsy store is here: http://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/ShimmerPolish
Her facebook page is here: https://www.facebook.com/ShimmerPolish

Shimmer Polish Jennifer

Happy Saturday loves! I hope you're all having a great weekend, I can't believe July is almost coming to a close! I'm hopefully going to spend this weekend relaxing in some sun, since we've been through some extreme weather ups & downs recently, 2 weeks of rain, 1 & 1/2 weeks of 35C+ degrees ( & humidity) and recently a week of 16-21C degree weather! July needs to know it's summer & be consistent!

Continuing with the beautiful polishes Cindy sent me for review, Jennifer was definitely up my alley! Currently it's on my toes, but to me it's the perfect glitter polish for an accent nail! Jennifer has soft blue, periwinkle, copper and even some black glitter mixed together to form a seamless beautiful polish. I paired Jennifer with Cult Nails Nevermore, a gorgeous shiny black to highlight how sparkly this polish is. I wore this manicure on my trip up North and my Uncle and I thought it was hilarious that my sparkly Jennifer nails caught some the attention of small fish in their lake! I included a bottle shot because I love how it looks in the bottle!

Once again, Cindy's etsy store showcases all the gorgeous polishes AND if you don't find something up your alley she does offer custom polishes, if she has the time!

Thanks for reading & go buy some Shimmer Polishes! <3

Shimmer Polish Nichole

Hi Loves! How is everyone? I feel like it's been a while since I blogged, and I should have some excuse, but honestly I've just been out enjoying summer, working on my online course and relaxing! At least I've been painting my nails, I just have been too lazy to watermark & crop!

I can't believe it's taken me so long to post this gorgeous polish. The amazing Cindy, from Shimmer Polish, contacted me about a month ago to see if I'd review some of her polishes for her. Of course I said yes, I LOVE glitter and I've been seeing all her gorgeous polishes all over the internet, so how could I resist! She sent 3 beauties, one of which I have to show you today!

Shimmer Polish Nichole is described as "Red, Silver and Blue Melange Glitter Polish! Patriotic Shimmer!" and that's exactly what I thought when I opened the package. I had all the polishes lined up on my desk & I knew I wanted to wear Nichole for Independence Day! I layered Nichole over 1 coat of Orly Blue Collar, and it's so pretty! The polish is so easy to apply, I only used 1 coat, but it can obviously be layered to become relatively opaque. 1 coat of SV or your topcoat of choice is all that's needed to smooth over the polish!

If you haven't checked out Cindy's beautiful creations, go to her etsy page ASAP and snap up one of those beauties (or 5.. ;)

Girls Night Out Nails!

Happy Sunday friends :)

I hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine like I am!!

Sorry for the late post! Just some quick nails I did before I went out last night with some girlfriends! We didn't end up doing much but it was nice to chill out after work!

I used Cult Nails Time Traveller and Blaze, 2 coats of TT and 3 of Blaze, topping it off with Wicked Fast.

I love these colors together and think it's a super cute mani. Sorry about the blue smudge on my middle finger..I was painting them and did the wrong order and tried to wipe it off, but didn't have time to acetone it (as all my other 9 fingers were painted) and I was afraid of wrecking it (I did this quick before work!)

Here's some quick pictures

That's it for today! Short and sweet! Maybe next week my nails won't be so teeny. I feel like I'm always rocking nubs. Oh well! <3

I'm Going on a Mini-Vacation!

Hi Loves and Happy Saturday! As you read this I will be in car, on my way to Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, aka  small city 8 hours north of where I live! My parents and I are going to stay with an Aunt and Uncle who live in SSM and have a "camp" (cottage) outside SSM. It's pretty remote, it's boat-in only and there is NO cell service where they are, or internet! It's going to be fairly rustic but I am excited! I don't get to see my Aunt and Uncle often and even though they bought the land where their cottage is in the 1970's, I have NEVER been. So I might be a might MIA this weekend/early next week, so try not to miss me!

If you needed a manicure to distract yourself from the horror that I'll be somewhere without internet or cell service (or a need for makeup, I'm not taking any!) look at these pretty nails! This is OPI Every Month is Oktoberfest with China Glaze White Cap layered over top. In the sun, this is amazingly gorgeous!

Thanks for reading and have a wonderful weekend! <3

Coral and Gold

Happy Monday my loves! I'm currently spending today & some of tomorrow in London On, visiting my sister, hopefully going to the beach and relaxing! I had a very uneventful weekend but for some reason I was feeling exhausted last night and my drive to London seemed long.

As I said, I've been loving simple manicures and my favourite way to jazz up a plain creme manicure is to add 2 accent nails. And what kind of an accent nail would they be if they didn't include glitter. This is Essie Come Here with an accent of OPI Spark de Triomphe layered over China Glaze Passion!

So simple, yet so eye catching!

Spring Paisley

Good Morning Sunday Readers!

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far! It's started to get extremely hot and humid here in London, but at least it's excellent beach weather!

This weekend I spent a night out with my high school girlfriends for a birthday party. It was so much fun, I love seeing them all! We were going to a country bar so I felt that I had to be somewhat theme-y even if it was just on my nails!

I used Sally Hansen in Jade Jump, and stamped a paisley print from my bundle monster set using Cult Nails Tempest, and topped it all off with Essie's Good to Go! This manicure felt so light, fresh and a little bit spring-y! I just loved it!

In the shade

the color leans a little lighter-a dupe for OPI Mermaid's Tears

I went out shopping and got compliments by all the cashiers!!

I've been itching to try this print for a while! I wish my nails were wider/longer/bigger etc so that the full stamp fit but I still think it's very cute! What's on your nails today? <3

Crisp White

Happy Saturday Loves! I'm having an excellent Saturday so far. The weather is gorgeous, although very hot & humid, so I went for an early run to wake myself up and now I'm just doing a few chores & then plan on enjoying the weather!

I spend all winter trying all kinds of patterns and colours on my nails and then in the summer I seem to crave simple manicures: neons, cremes with an accent nail, or plain white nails. I know not everyone loves white nails because they can be a bit "white-out"-esque but as you know I LOVE OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and I wear it all the time. I think it looks gorgeous just as it is.

I really need to try stamping this with a nice light gold & a simple pattern, just to jazz it up a bit.

Hope you're all having a great weekend so far <3 Thanks for reading!

Purple Flowers

Happy Wednesday! If you think you've already seen this post, you're right! I wrote & prepped this Sunday night and it posted Monday, but after I wrote it, I felt guilty about having a non-Canadian coloured manicure up for Canada Day. So I changed my mind and quickly painted my nails, photographed, watermarked and posted something on Monday!

I've been loving simple manicures lately and craving manicures that I can wear for several days, since my ambition to change my manicure frequently has been fairly low. This is BB Couture Maleficent Magenta, a favourite of mine, stamped with a konad plate (you might be familiar with this stamp by now!) and Sally Hansen Silver Sweep. So simple, yet so cute!

I hope you're all having a fantastic Monday & a great start to summer!

Simple Canada Day Manicure

Happy Canada Day to all my fellow amazing Canadians! I've loved meeting some of you through blogging/twitter, and even though we all seem to be fairly far away (any Toronto/East GTA bloggers out there?!) it's still awesome to know some Canadians!

I changed my mind at the last moment last night and felt guilty not representing Canada on my nails today. In the past I've had some fairly creative manicures, and even last night I started out with the idea of having something fairly complex..but in the end, laziness won out, so it remained fairly simple. However, my cure for a "simple" manicure is always glitters. I used China Glaze Ruby Pumps and OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. After looking at this, I think I need a nice opaque white glitter..any suggestions?

Happy Canada Day wherever you are & Thanks for reading <3
