Pride Weekend Nails

Happy Sunday readers!

Ugh, every time I see my sister's nails it just reinforces how ugly mine are. I broke all of mine moving this past week (sorry, that's why the no post last week) and I kind of think these nails look truly terrible in pictures. In real life it kind of looks like the tropical kind you can buy! I wanted theme nails for the Pride Parade I'm going to today!

I wanted to do a rainbow look so I used Misa Bikini with a Martini, OPI Need Sunglasses, Cult Nails Deal with it, A-England Tristam and MAC Past Curfew. I stamped it with a heart image from bundle monster (because Love is Love) and topped it off with some glitter. I think the combo of the ugly rainbow, the glitter and my ugly, short, misshapen nails, make this look like a child painted them. It's less ugly from far away I swear.

Just some hearts and glitter

My essie topcoat is gross. so much red!

I hope everyone enjoys their long weekend, and I look forward to seeing all the pretty Canada Day nails on Monday! <3 you guys!

Butterfly Nails

Happy Wednesday Loves! I hope you're all having a great week, I definitely am and I am loving that I'm already on summer vacation!

So, I'm sure many of you have seen the various butterfly manicures that are all over the internet, usually they're done by freehand and I was always insanely jealous of how cool they looked. I cannot freehand ANYTHING to save my life so I always thought it'd be something I would see but never be able to do for myself. Enter NailCraze to the rescue! I bought plates NC01 and NC03 a while back but then the butterfly images always looked so daunting, and it took me forever to try it. I used a base of Jade Vermelho Surreal, and stamped with Cult Nails Nevermore and then added little white dots! Sorry this is a bit picture heavy but I think it's just so pretty!

I had to fix some of my stamping with a black striper, but I think it turned out pretty well for a first effort! Now I just have to get used to using this stamp more!

Essie Come Here

Happy Monday Loves! It's officially summer, and the weather where I live seems to have taken that as a sign for a heat wave! I am sort of loving it, but it's hard to sit outside when it's 29 degrees at 930am aha!

So, I know I've worn Essie Come Here in a manicure already, but I figured it would be good to sort of swatch and review this polish all by it's lonesome. I LOVED how this polish looked in the bottle, but it's definitely a tricky colour. It's an orange-pink coral, (at least to my eyes) in the bottle, but when on my nails, the orange seems to be taken over by some strong red tones. I included one photo where it's almost neon-like, not because it's always that bright but I think it shows the true colour. Formula wise, this one is a beauty, a nice quick 2 coater and so shiny!

This is definitely going on my toes next, I love how vibrant it is!

Matte Splatter

Good Morning my Lovelies and Happy Tuesday! I'm in somewhat of a good mood, since I just registered for a course to take this summer (aka something to fill my time since I'll be unemployed while school is out) and my boyfriend will be home from Europe in 5 days. I hope he's having a good time, but since he is moving back to where I live permanently after his trip, I'm anxious for him to be home!

I shortened my nails down a while back, because they were bothering me a bit and I was hemming and hawing as to what to wear on them, and I realized I haven't done any of my beloved splatter manicures in ages. So, this is a base of OPI MBSW, with Cult Nails Nevermore, China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise, Man Hunt, and Sunworshipper on top! Then, just for fun, I threw on my NYC matte topcoat and I LOVE how it looks.

I really like the blues/yellow-orange tones look and I think it's so cool matte!

How do you feel about it?

Ombre Nails

Happy Sunday friends!
I hope everyone is out enjoying the weather! It's started to get nice out, so hopefully I can start tanning!

This week I went really simple, I wanted to do an ombre manicure, not the best attempt, I don't seem to have many colors that really fit, but I think it was pretty cute!

I used Cult Nails Tempest on my pinkie, OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, Essie Maximillian Strasse-her (my new fave!) on my middle finger, China Glaze For Audrey on my index and China Glaze Shower Together on my thumb. This wasn't the best attemp, MBSW wasn't dark enough between the white and the blue gray, and shower together was too dark of a blue, but I love that color!

I also stamped it with....a hibiscus flower just like Elizabeth did yesterday....sometimes we really are twins. Her image came out way better however...I used a new top coat and oh my goodness! It streaked so bad! I waited a good minute to put it on and still streaks. crap.

Here are some quick pictures!

I think these colors would have gone better together had I skittled the manicure and added some stripes an glitter...I might do that tomorrow if I'm still wearing it! Enjoy your week everyone! <3

Bad Blogger Loves Neon

Happy Saturday! I'm back! I'm sorry this post isn't up earlier but I still posted, so that counts right? I will be back to regular posting, I just took all my photos off my memory card and a) I have manicures that I wore in May (MAY guys! It's almost the end of June..what's wrong with me) and b) I have photos of things I forgot I did, so I'm excited to show you!

I figured since I am going to be spending the day out in the yard, getting some sun, hopefully enjoying the weather, I'd give you some neon love for the weekend. This manicure features my favourite neon of all time. I mean it, I would wear this ALWAYS if I could and this bottle will probably be the first one I use up. China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy is my go-to neon, and I just stamped a simple hibiscus flower from one of my konad plates as an accent nail. I did put this over a coat of white, because I was lazy, so it's 1 coat of OPI MBSW and 1 coat of ChG FFF. My FFF is fairly thick so I usually only have to do 3 coats, but like I said, I was lazy!

Happy Saturday my loves!

Internet Issues

Hi Loves,

So, since my last post I have spent most of the time with internet/cable that has been cutting in and out..which is SO frustrating. Hopefully the issue will be solved by Friday and I should be back to 3x a week posting on Saturday.

I'm sorry for being MIA, but hopefully the issue is fixed!

Sunny Yellow

Happy Sunday readers!

How is everyone? This is probably the FIRST post I'm writing wayyyyy in advance...I haven't done any blogging sooner than the night before in a LONG LONG time!

I was searching my drawers after wearing last week's snakeskin manicure for 6 (SIX!!) days with barely any chipping, mostly tip wear and grew out. So I picked up one of my favourite yellows, Taxi Cab Yellow by NYC (I love all my yellows but some of them just take like a billion coats, I used 3 for this one) and was wondering what to do! I saw Cris, from Let Them Have Polish's instagram post, a previous manicure she did and was inspired to do some dotting. I used Misa's Bikini with a Martini and Sally Hansen's Jungle Gem (some of my two go to's lately)

So here's my manicure:

The pink is SO different IRL--much more hot pink

my camera washes all the colors out too much

Just a fun, sunny, summer manicure! Hope you enjoyed it! <3

Hi Loves! Sorry I didn't post yesterday/this post is late. As I'm typing this I'm scarfing down some lunch before I head back to work, I was scheduled for the morning but then was asked to stay on for the afternoon. Luckily, I live close the school I'm supplying for so I was able to run home to eat. My home internet has been ridiculous and it keeps cutting out, along with our cable, so hopefully it will be fixed for Thursday so I can continue to post regularly! If I'm absent, that's why!

So, I've been seeing "watercolour" inspired manicures all over, and after watching a few tutorials on YouTube, I finally decided to try it out for myself. I used a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, then dabbed on China Glaze SunWorshipper, Shocking Pink and Towel Boy Toy, then smeared them/thinned them with acetone. I probably could have done a better job but overall I like the effect!

I hope you're all having a great week!

Two for the Price of One

Happy Sunday!

I'm sorry I didn't get around to posting last week, ugh, this has been a busy month for me, thankfully even though I'm writing this up in advance, by the time it's live, I will be DONE my exam! YAY!

I have two different looks, one from the previous week, and the one from this week is from my girls night out with my co-workers!

My first set of pictures is from a NOTD awhile ago. I saw Essie's Maximilian Strasse-her on sale for $4.98 at The Superstore, so exciting! I also used my nameless China Glaze gold glitter for a fun, eye-catching manicure.

I smudged my ring finger - sorry!

This week I had a great night out with all the girl's from the bar portion of the restaurant, my manager got the time off for all of us, and I was so excited to be included! (I work both in the dining room, and then I work in the bar when they are short staffed).

I originally had planned on using a stamp with lipstick and lip prints, but it was too big for my nails and it looked silly, so snake print it is! I used my MAC Archie's Collection Past Curfew, currently my fave go-to polish, it's the perfect color of raisin/wine-purple color. LOVE THIS! It did stain a little unfortunately when I had to fix stamping, so, sorry in advance!

Just LOVE the bottle- the packaging is so cute

If only my nails were larger!
And that's what's been on my nails lately! Which is your favourite, dark and printed, or light and sparkly?

Sunset Gradient

Happy Saturday! I hope you're all enjoying your weekends, I'm relaxing with my boyfriend, and despite the rain, it's a wonderful weekend. I'm practicing my "cooking" skills, since I do not cook well, and if you try to make me cook without a recipe, the results are pretty scary. However, my boyfriend is not impressed with my lack of cooking skills, so I'm trying to show him I can be domestic...which in reality, I can't be haha, so if I die from food poisoning this weekend, you'll all know why!

So, gradients..I'm still trying to find the "perfect" combination of colours and ability to wow me, but I don't think I've found it yet. I picked these colours A) because I've been watching a lot of sunsets and I love how the light can fade from yellow to orange to red before the sun sets and B)I rarely wear orange or yellow, so I figured this would be a safe way to wear them!

I used a base of Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow, then sponged Sephora by OPI Caliente Coral, finishing with OPI Got The Blues for Red, then stamped over the gradient with the butterfly design from the BM 300 series set.

I am still not happy with how the colours in this gradient worked out, the red didn't show up as much as I'd like, but I'll still keep trying! Any colour combinations I should look into?

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, thanks for reading <3
