Comparison Post: China Glaze Man Hunt & Some Blues

Hi loves! Happy Monday! Is everyone watching the Olympics? I'm on afternoons this week & next so I plan on waking up early to watch some events & PVR'ing others that I will have to miss! I love the swimming, gymnastics and track events personally!

So, a few weeks ago I posted swatches of China Glaze Man Hunt from their fall collection, On Safari, and some of you commented that it looked somewhat like OPI Dating A Royal. Since I own Dating A Royal I decided to compare it and just for fun, compare it with China Glaze First Mate.

So first up, just a quick bottle shot of OPI Dating A Royal and China Glaze Man Hunt
Already you can see the differences, Man Hunt is both more vibrant but darker.

As you can see, Dating A Royal is lighter, and First Mate is dustier. I was happy that there are such differences between them, since I hate having dupes! I have not compared Man Hunt with Revlon Royal, but since Man Hunt is a creme and Royal is a jelly, to me they are different in that respect!

What do you think ladies, worth having all 3 of these in your collection or would you be satisfied with just one?

Thanks for reading & hope to hear form you in the comments <3

Chunky Holo Glitter

Happy Sunday loves!
I have some glittery nails for you this weekend! I let Jared pick out the colors and he chose these because they reminded him of some video game called Journey. Yeah, that's what happens when a boy picks out the nail polish.
I used OPI's Royal Rajah Ruby, and China Glaze Liquid Leather, and added Kleancolors Chunky Holo Bluebell on top.

Onto the pictures!

Red and gold in the sun

Shifts a little green

So pretty

loving all the colors
And there you have it! I rocked these glittery nails all weekend and L-O-V-E-D them!

Stamping with A-England

Hi loves & Happy Saturday. I slept in this morning and it felt SO good to not get up at 5am. My Helmer is all put together and I am loving it, so my Saturday is now wide open to relax and hang out. Hopefully I can enjoy the sun :)

As many of you know, Adina of A-England polishes creates some fantastic beauties, of which I own two (although I partook in her recent sale & have 3 more on the way!). I currently only own 2 holos, and I wanted to see how well they stamped! I decided to see how Dragon stamped, since it's such a beautiful green holo, and so pigmented. This is Dragon over 2 coats of Misa Pay Days Are Happy Days, using konad plate m78.

I love how well this stamped and the holo is so beautiful. And, well, just look at those bottle shots. If you don't own Dragon, I highly suggest you go and snag it, Dragon is £9.00.

Well, that's all for today loves. Hope you enjoy your Saturday & Thanks for reading <3 Hope to hear from
you in the comments <3

OPI Ink & Some Matte

Hi loves! I'm writing this out really quick before I go to bed...at 9pm..like my grandmother. What can I say, 5am comes early & I like my 8 hrs of solid sleep! Anyways I am SO excited..if you follow me on instagram (@elizabethmegan3) you'll see that I finally got MY HELMER. YAY. This is going to be my weekend project/putting it together/reorganizing. And yes, I will take lots of photos :)

So, a while ago I remember someone (I think Kirsten) saying on twitter that they were wearing matte black polish & how it was seasonally inappropriate and I just had to wear a matte manicure. So, this is OPI Ink, topped with konad plate m64 & Sally Hansen Silver Sweep, and I mattified it using NYC Matte Top Coat.

It was way more duochrome in real life, but my camera did not want to pick that up!

What do you think ladies..dark, mattified manicures summer-appropriate?

Thanks for reading & don't forget to leave a comment if you'd like, I love hearing from you all <3

Dollish Polish Random Dancing

Hi loves & Happy Tuesday. Sorry there was no post yesterday, like I have on other occasions, I thought about how I should schedule something on Sunday, and then convinced myself I had, and then woke up Monday morning & realized there was nothing. Whoops.

Anyways, today I have one of my first "indie" polishes that I coveted. I have a small stash of them (i.e. 4) because I suck at hunting for them/dealing with restocks. I drooled over Dollish Polish Random Dancing online for SO LONG and I thought I would never own it but thankfully for me, Kim from Overall Beauty had them in stock one day & I snagged one! This is, at first, 1 coat over ASK Cosmetics Classic Peacock, but then I upped it to 2 coats of Random Dancing. I seriously LOVE this polish.

If there were ever a polish that I would attribute to Deena from the Jersey Shore (random, I know), this would be it, because seriously it's a "blast in a glass'" (or in a bottle, whatever).

Anyone else own this? Or do you need some napkins while you drool?

Thanks for reading & don't be shy, I love to hear your comments <3

Multicolored Dots!

Happy Sunday everyone!
Hope you all had a great weekend! I'm working today, but later I'll be at a work staff party! Woo! So excited!
I decided to use my dotting tools this week! I used 3 coats of NYC "In a New York Minute" Lexington Yellow. I probably could've have gotten away with only 2, but I wanted it to be even ;)

I then used NYC "In a New York Minute" Greenwich Village, China Glaze's Kiwi Colada and For Audrey, Misa's Bikini with a Martini, and Essence Bleu Violet for all my dots.

On to the pictures!

Bottle shots

The neon's look brighter in real life

it's so eye catching and obnoxious
That's all I have for today! Until next week, enjoy it! <3

Neon Animal Print

Hi loves! Happy Saturday! How is everyone? I'm hanging out, enjoying the weather. Hope you're all enjoying it too!

So, this is what I wore the day of my wisdom tooth surgery..I got mixed reactions, the anesthesiologist thought it was a little obnoxious, the after-care nurse loved them. And she called me peanut. She was cute. Anyways this is China Glaze Shocking Pink, Sun Worshipper, In the Limelight and Nina Ultra Pro Neon Yellow, stamped with Wet n Wild Black Creme and konad plate M57.

I love this. It was so neon. <3

So what do you think? Let me know in the comments, I really enjoy hearing what you have to say & I promise I'm going to reply to you all. It's my new blogging goal, replying to comments ;)

China Glaze Towel Boy Toy

Hi lovefaces! Happy Wednesday. I'm exhausted so far this week, it's back to work, and I'm on mornings..so my day starts at 5am, and these past few weeks it's been super hot here in Ontario (like 35 degrees Celsius every day) which is just amplified in the plant. Yuck, but I love heat so I can't complain too much.

Anyways this manicure is from a while back, I just never got around to posting it! It's China Glaze Towel Boy Toy, stamped with konad white & m64 and dotted with China Glaze Shocking Pink!

Look how short my nails were. Thank goodness they're long again!

Anyways, short & sweet!

China Glaze Man Hunt and I Herd That

It's monday. *sigh* I'm back at work this week, and right now if you're reading it, I've already been awake for about an hour and working, ugh. I miss vacation already. I am hoping I don't have to work 6 days this week, mostly because it is exhausting, but, I sort of miss the paycheque that comes with it. Oh well!

So, I'm sure you're sick of these colours, but I have how I wore the China Glaze On Safari collection. I saw this picture that China Glaze tweeted/put on their facebook, which was what made me excited for the colours I chose. I decided to mix it up and instead of using I'm Not Lion as the accent nail, I used I Herd That. I haven't done an accent nail manicure in a while, and even though this is incredibly simple looking, I love it.

Well that's all for today. Thanks for reading loves <3 Enjoy your Monday!

Essie and Dried Flower Manicure

Happy Sunday everyone!!

Today I've got a little inspired post for you! This week my sister came to visit and we went over to see Marta, from ChitChat Nails . It was an amazing afternoon, Marta has 3 of the most gorgeous children ever and she was so nice to let us play around with her polish and stamps (as always!!) I always leave coveting half her stash!
So recently on her blog she posted a dried flower manicure, and then kindly gave Elizabeth and I some of the dried flowers from the MASH store (check out her review here
So I now present my version of a dried flower manicure.

I used 3 coats of Essie's Cute As a Button (I really need to add some thinner to this...or learn to work with it better, one of the more stubborn Essie formulas) and on my accent finger, 3 coats of Joe Fresh Wave. I topped it all off with 1 coat of Seche Vite (2 coats on the flowers to make sure they were extra stuck, I work in a restaurant, so no flowers in peoples' food!!)
The flowers are very easy to work with, I just trimmed mine a teeny bit, I probably could've tried to make more of a design, but then I just put it in wet polish and voila! I didn't even worry that I smushed my polish a bit because the flower and the seche vite even it out!
Without further ado, here are my pictures, and once again, I'm using my iPhone because it's 3 megapixels more than my camera, aka it takes better photos. *sigh* one day I will have a nice camera again. Oh well.

My instagram photo shows off the flower the best!
And there you have it, my first foray into the dried flower manicure. I almost feel like in some shots I need a tiny little gemstone for the middle of the flower to give it some kick or something! What are some of your favourite dried flower looks? <3

China Glaze On Safari: I Herd That

Happy Saturday. I'm on a beach, Yay! What are you all doing today? Hopefully I don't get sunburnt, my boyfriend is not the best at putting sunscreen on, and since we're probably eating free BBQ food, I forget to put on sunscreen, whoops.

So, here is my last pick from the China Glaze On Safari collection, obviously the only other glitter. What can I say, I love glitters! I Herd That is an orange/copper/gold fine glitter polish, similar to I'm Not Lion, and it does have some holographic glitter in it, although less than I'm Not Lion. Again, this polish also dries matte, and covers really well in 2 coats, but here I am wearing 3. I didn't expect to love this as much as I did, since oranges and I aren't always friends, but it's such a flattering shade of copper, I love it.

In the shade

Again, I love this colour. It's so gorgeous and so interesting that it's a matte, holographic glitter. Beautiful.

China Glaze On Safari: I'm Not Lion

It's Friday Dollfaces! What's everyone's plans for this weekend? I am wrapping up my stay in London, and heading back up to visit my boyfriend. The company he works for is throwing a "beach party" in his town tomorrow, so I'm going up for free food and fireworks!

I have another gorgeous polish from the China Glaze On Safari collection, this time it's a glitter (could you have guessed I would pick glitter?) I'm Not Lion is a fine gold glitter polish with some silver and holographic glitter thrown in. Depending on the light, it sometimes has a more champagne-look to it, sometimes a green tint, but the holographic glitter in it is blinding. It also is very interesting that it dries to a matte finish, which you can see in my photos. It covered in 2 coats, although I wore 3 just because I wanted to be sure it covered.

I didn't add any photos with topcoat, but it just adds more shine to the polish, and if you are not a fan of gritty glitters, then you will want a topcoat!

I LOVE this one as well, obviously, it's so versatile and I think the colour is really flattering.

Thoughts my loves? It's one stunning glitter!

China Glaze On Safari: Man Hunt

Hi loves & Happy Wednesday! How is everyone today? I'm relishing my last week of vacation before I go back to work, and so I'm taking a trip to London to visit my sister AND finally, Marta! I am so excited to finally meet Marta, I cannot wait to see her infamous stash & her gorgeous nails in real life!

So, after seeing so many swatches of China Glaze On Safari, I hopped on over to Nail Polish Canada to order my picks (plus a few extras!) and they just arrived. For today, I have swatches of Man Hunt, a gorgeous royal blue creme that I am IN love with. It's very reminiscient of China Glaze First Mate, except brighter, or like Revlon Royal but definitely not a jelly! I love this colour, it's so vibrant and shiny. In my swatches I have 2 coats of Man Hunt, no top coat, so you can see the shine. It dries really quickly and has the lovely formula you expect from China Glaze.

This beauty makes me so happy, I am not normally a blue nail polish person, but I will be getting so much wear out of this one!

What do you think loves, will you be picking this colour up? I know it's not the typical "fall" colour, but I like some colour in my fall!

Purple and Gold Zebra

Hi loves, Happy Monday! How is everyone? My weekend was pretty low-key, my bruising is going down along with my swelling which is great, so I hope I can stop whining on here (I know you're all sick of it! :P)

So, I don't know how I have  managed to go for so long without owning this polish, but in my haul post you obviously saw I finally picked up China Glaze Grape Pop. I literally have been dying to get my hands on it, and I just never have, until recently! So I paired Grape Pop with konad plate m57 and China Glaze Passion! So pretty, so simple, so easy! I love it!

My nails are pretty nubbinized right now, but I'm loving this combo!

Hope you all have a fantastic monday, thanks for reading loves <3

Sundays are Happy Days!

Hello all! I hope everyone had an excellent week and weekend! I spent part of mine in Toronto with my best friends for a birthday, and if you follow me on instagram (cattyislove) you saw that I got my nose pierced! I've been wanting to do it forever!! I also *finally* got internet and am all moved into my apartment! Wow! Busy!

Anyways just a quick little post. Just a side note, I'm back to the old camera, so it's not the best picture quality, honestly I think my iPhone took better pictures last week! I will have to work on that.

I recently purchased some Misa's from Trade Secrets, so today I have Pay Days are Happy Days.  This is two coats, with a coat of Seche Vite. I then (badly) added an accent nail, using the MASH plate and fishnet print with Ebony Hates Chris from Wet'n'Wild.

Just a quick manicure for a busy weekend! I really love this color and have already worn it twice, it's going to be my go-to palate cleanser!

So as you can see, a nice clean, simple color! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday loves! <3

Haul Post

Hi loves! How is everyone doing? It's been 4 days since my surgery but I'm still feeling kind of crappy. The pain isn't too badly, I ditched the T3's after thursday but my face is swelling and bruising and I can't eat a lot. And the stitches inside my mouth are grossing me out SO MUCH. This is the first facial surgery I've had and ugh never again do I want to go through this, stitches in your gums are pretty disgusting!

Anyways, it's been a while since I've had a somewhat-serious haul, being unemployed and a student and everything I have been under great restrain, and well, as you know, I'm now employed and I've definitely let loose a bit!

I bought 3 china glazes at Chatters, Grape Pop, Passion and Towel Boy Toy, ones I have always been looking at but never bought (I don't know why!). Then we were in Walmart and Essie was on sale, and since they didn't have Shine of the Times, I snagged Turquoise and Caicos and Lapis of Luxury, then NYC had a 2 for $2, so I bought Sidewalkers and their matte topcoat. The Misa's you already saw, and then finally, thanks to Kim (the amazing woman) behind Overall Beauty, I managed to snatch up 2 Dollish Polishes I was coveting, Team Salavtore and Random Dancing. I was so excited I danced around my room when those two showed up! Now I just need May the Odds Be Ever In Your Favour by Dollish & I'm all set!

It's so fun to haul things although my inner poor student is freaking out a bit!

Thanks for reading lovelies and have an awesome Saturday. I'm going to my boyfriend's brother's 30th birthday party, to which we are supplying a Keg (that I can't drink) BUT still. Fun! <3
