Half Moons!

Hi lovelies! Happy Saturday :) I'm on my way to London to see Katy and most of the rest of my extended family, my great-aunt is celebrating her 90th birthday so we're off to party, 90th style!

So, I finally bought some binder reinforcements, so I could do some half moons! This first time around, they are a little messy in macro BUT I still loved them. I was sad when they chipped off! I used China Glaze Light As Air as the base and OPI Lincoln Park After Dark as the top colour!

I think this turned out awesome the first time around!

Pink and Bundle Monster 207

Hi lovelies! So another teacher at the school lent me the Hunger Games books, I know I'm so far behind the bandwagon, but I am really enjoying them. They're distracting me from my homework BUT that's ok!

So, I was staring at all my stamping plates the other day, and I realized there are so many bundle monster images I haven't used yet. I think that's my goal this year, use up all my image plates. I decided to try out the striped image from BM 207 and I used OPI You're A Pisa Work as the base and Konad white polish to stamp with.

This stamp is pretty cool, I'm feeling it. It seems like a cool alternative to the average stripe!

Bourjois Bleu Violete

Hi loves, Happy Wednesday. I'm looking forward to today, mostly because I'm going out to dinner with a friend who I haven't seen in a while. But other than that, my week is pretty laid back!

I picked up my first Bourjois polish the other day, but it's not speaking to me, so I probably will be gifting this to Katy if she wants it. Bourjois Bleu Violet is a blue-purple jelly polish. It looks like there is tipwear, but there wasn't, I don't know why it showed up like that...

This polish just seemed, meh to me, but who knows, Katy might love it!

Blue Shimmer

Hi loves! Sorry I sort of fell off the bandwagon the past few days. It started with me thinking I scheduled something for friday (I didn't) then realizing it was Saturday and then skipping it on Monday. Sorry! I'm terrible I know! But I'm here, so yay :)

I was in the mood for something bright the other day, but not too complicated, because I was lazy. So I pulled out Orly Blue Collar, and then topped it with China Glaze White Cap and voila! Pretty & Simple!

It was really warm here the past few weeks, so I was in the summer mood, but now it's cold again, back to 4 degrees Celsius. *sigh* I guess my flip flops will be waiting a bit longer!

That's all for me today folks! I'll probably do a multiple colour spam post next week! How did everyone feel about the Hunger Games movie? I wasn't blown away but I definitely enjoyed it and thought they did a great job translating the book on screen! <3

Happy Belated St. Patty's Day

Hi loves, Happy Tuesday! How is everyone? I'm loving the weather we've been having these past few days, it's been sunny and between 15-20 degrees, which is typical May weather, not March, but I am loving it. I've been able to break out the birkenstocks!

Anyways, I didn't really celebrate St. Patty's Day, but I did do my nails, I just didn't get around to posting them. My boyfriend and I went out to dinner to the Keg, but that was the extent of our celebrating. Anyways ,my manicure is China Glaze Agro with black french tips using Wet n Wild Black Creme. I've been waiting forever for my nails to be equal lengths so I could do french tips again...yum!

St. Patrick's Day Manicure

Hello Sunday readers!
I'm going to keep this short and sweet! I did a quick green manicure for the weekend! I used 2 coats of Joe Fresh Mallard and topped it off with Essie Shine of the Times. Man, you know I love this polish!

Sorry the pictures aren't better, one was taken after work, you can see all the scratches, the other was taken before work and I was super rushed!
That's all for me for today! Hope you all had an awesome weekend!! <3

China Glaze Agro

Hi loves! Happy Friday! I am still getting over being sick, which sucks, it has dragged out all week and I have some papers to write and things to mark before I go back to teaching on Monday, sigh. March Break really isn't fun unless you go somewhere I think!

Last, but certainly not least, is China Glaze Agro, the third and final polish I ordered from the Hunger Games Collection! Agro is a metallic olive green polish with some multicolour shimmer. It's gorgeous beyond words and definitely my favourite out of the collection! It has a fantastic formula, it barely needed 2 coats, and it wears so well! I love this colour!

Anyways, short & sweet, Happy Friday loves!

China Glaze Smoke and Ashes

Hi loves and Happy Thursday! It's almost the weekend, yay! Anyone celebrating St. Patrick's Day this weekend? I am not sure what I'm doing but I'll at least try to make my nails festive! I hope I feel better, I've had a cold for the past few days and it's driving me insane. I hate having plugged ears/having to breathe through my mouth. Yuck!

So, the 2nd of the 3 polishes I bought from the China Glaze Colours from the Capitol collection is Smoke and Ashes. This one was tricky to photograph because it's SO cool! It's a very dark base, probably black, with blue-green shimmer that shifts colours. It's so much more amazing in person, seriously!

This one is super cool, definitely pick this baby up if you have the chance! I want to wear it on my toes!

China Glaze Stone Cold

Hi loves & Happy Wednesday :) Tonight I get to cash into my birthday present and go to the ballet with my mom, my aunt and my mom's friend. I am so excited, we're going to see Sleeping Beauty, which is my favourite fairy tale EVER.

So I ordered 3 polishes from the new China Glaze Colours from the Capitol collection, Stone Cold, Smoke and Ashes and Agro.  I used Nail Polish Canada because they were offering a pre-order of the collection! They have amazing service and really great prices. I ordered my polishes, the shipped on a Wednesday and I had them on a Monday and they came from the West Coast, so pretty awesome!

Today I have Stone Cold to show you. Stone Cold is supposed to represent District 2, and it's a dark gray matte polish with silver shimmer. When the polish dries matte, it seems very dark, almost-black, but appears more gray if you use a topcoat. Interesting, huh? This polish has an amazing formula, you can almost get away with 1 coat, but I used 2 just because.

I can't decide which way I like the polish best? I think it has like 2 distinct faces!

You can still pre-order parts or all of the collection from Nail Polish Canada!

Butter London No More Waity Katie

Hi lovelies and Happy Tuesday! How is everyone? I've got a cold which is just making my day a little annoying, I'm cold & congested and I cannot stop sneezing. Yuck!

Anyways, I can't believe it has taken me so long to show off my pretty Butter London polish that Katy bought me for Christmas! I wanted this colour basically since it came out! No More Waity Katie is a sheer-ish grey base with purple glitter. It reaches opacity at around 3 coats. I love this colour!

Such a pretty colour :)

Also, here's a little sneak peek, I received my China Glaze Hunger Games polishes in the mail yesterday! Left to Right: Smoke & Ashes, Stone Cold and Agro! Delicious!

Coral and Bows

Hi loves and Happy Monday :) What's everyone up to today? It's the first day of my week off, but I have a lot of accomplish today! I have a ton of marking and a couple of packages to send out...and proabably clean my room/organize all my teaching/school stuff. Boringgggg.

My boyfriend's mom bought me a little Sephora by OPI mini set for my birthday, and the coral colour, I'm Wired was so pretty looking, I just had to put it on. Normally I avoid corals, because they have orange undertones and orange & my skintone are like mortal enemies, BUT I decided to try it out anyways!
Then, because I recently discovered that I own this plate, I stamped the bow image from konad plate M56 with Konad polish in White.

I literally almost ordered this plate 5 times, and then I found that I already owned it. I feel so dumb! Anyways, I love how this turned out. Again, another relatively girly manicure but it's so pretty!

More Butter London

Hello friends!
Happy Sunday! I'm writing this early, as today I will probably be suffering from an epic hangover after hanging out with my best friends from high school!
Today I've got a quick post with another Butter London that I received for my birthday!! (Lauren if you're reading this I wore this when I got my hair cut!!)
This was 2 easy coats and a lovely coat of Seche Vite to top it off. Sorry, it was a dry day and my cuticles are so so. Also my nails were broken and gross, the shape is TERRIBLE. It seems to be a common theme with me on here....

Then I went and kind of ruined it by stamping with BM 03 using Wet'n'Wild Black creme. Oh well, the look only lasted a day so not that terrible. Note I sucked at getting the image on my thumb fully...my stamping really isn't up to par with Elizabeth's.....

Well that's all I have for you today! Hopefully next week my Hunger Game polishes (yea that's not what they're called, so what) will be in and I'll have a manicure using them for you all! <3

Lilac Flowers

Good morning wonderfuls! How is everyone's Saturday going? I'm sitting around on my butt relaxing! I really can't make myself do anything, although I have a TON of marking to do. Tomorrow the weather is supposed to be 16 degrees (Celsius) which is AMAZING for March where I live so I plan on taking advantage of that!

I was in a spring mood the other day, so I decided on this super-girly purple manicure. I used 2 coats of China Glaze Light As Air, then stamped with Ask Cosmetics Oh So Aubergine and BM plate 16. Then, because I felt like it, I added some pearls to my ring fingers! I love this <3

Loveeeeeee <3 What do you guys think? Too girly?

Green and Gold

Hi loves! Happy Friday! Today is awesome for me! It's a day off! Yay, and next week is March Break so I have a week of sleeping in!

I've been neglecting my wheel of rhinestones pretty badly, and I always stare at them, but never use them because I feel like it makes my manicures so fancy. The other day, however, I said screw it and this is what I came up with. I used Essie Going Incognito as the base, sponged on Revlon Gold Coin, then OPI Bring on the Bling, then added a yellow/gold rhinestone to make it fancy!

I loved how it looked and all my students thought it was cute!

Sally Hansen Glitz Gal

Hi loves & Happy Wednesday! Half way through the week yay! Today I am hoping to get a lot of reading done, I am giving 3 unit tests over my 3 teaching periods, aka one long, silent day to read HA!

The other day when I was on a massive hunt for acetone, I spied the new Sally Hansen Gems polishes, but only Glitz Gal caught my eye. It's dark charcoal glitter in a clear base with some larger holographic hex glitter thrown in. I probably should have layered this bad boy, because as you can see it is relatively sheer at 3 coats, but oh well!

It's pretty but I wasn't wowed by this polish, maybe Katy will take it off my hands if she likes it!

Anyways, thanks for reading loves <3

Ask Cosmetics Review

Hi loves and Happy Tuesday! How is everyone? I am looking forward to Friday, especially after the past few days. A food fight broke out between students last friday, and 2 girls were seriously injured (a concussion and a broken nose) so now there are over 40 suspensions being handed out and whatnot. I'm trying to be very serious as a teacher and remind the students that what happened is wrong, but they all think it's funny & want a suspension because to them it's an extra 3 days on top of march break. *sigh* Kids!

Anyways, a while ago I was contacted by Ask Cosmetics to see if I would want to try out some products. I was sent their nail polish remover, base coat, top coat and four polishes (Oh So Aubergine, Classic Peacock, Rich Sapphire and Romantic Sunset). Ask Cosmetics is a newer company, from Burlington ON, that focuses on the health of your nails!

The Revive Nail Polish Remover was sent to me first. It contains soyabean oil, vitamin E and acetone. (Sorry I forgot to take a picture until after I had used it a few times)
The interesting thing about this polish remover is even though it's acetone based, it's super moisturizing, even to the point of leaving a residue on your nails (like an oil), that you can rub in. It removes polishes very easily, and it lasts a long time for such a small bottle, which is good because the biggest downfall of this remover is the price point. It retails for $13.95 for 4 fl oz. It's pricey and because of the moisturizing ingredients this polish does NOT work well for konad stamping. It clogs the plates & stamper with the oils. But if you're looking to be kind to your nails, this one is amazing.

Onto the polishes, Classic Peacock, Rich Sapphire, Oh So Aubergineand Romantic Sunset.

All these polishes were really nice, formula wise. Classic Peacock and Oh So Aubergine were easy buttery 1-coaters, Rich Sapphire was 2 because it is a jelly and Romantic Sunset was like 1 & a half. I'm sure that Classic Peacock and Oh So Aubergine will be amazing to stamp with. Romantic Sunset isn't my cup of tea, but the formula was great, so still a nice polish!

The topcoat & basecoat (not pictured) seem like average treatments. The topcoat isn't super fast drying, but it's not slow. The basecoat is nice, and so far I have no complaints!

You can buy Ask Cosmetics either from their e-shop, or contact Lisa via her blog or on Ask's Facebook Page
