Mixed Manicure

Hi & Happy Thursday my loves! I hope everyone's week is going well. I spent yesterday at various doctor's offices, so yay for that being over.

I was feeling really bored and Marta always posts fun manicures on instagram, and the other day she posted one that just inspired me. It was her usual skittlette-style manicure, so I figured I'd try out the same. I used Cult Nails Nevermore, OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, CN Nevermore to stamp with, and China Glaze I'm Not Lion.

I loved this manicure, I need more mixed manicures with some glitter, it definitely added to my good mood.

Also, please don't forget, check out the Nail Polish Canada Holiday Art contest, and VOTE! (and for me, if you like my manicure!)

Blue and Silver

Good Morning & Happy Monday! I hope everyone's weekend was enjoyable. My boyfriend was home again, to visit his new nephew, so I got to enjoy some baby cuddles, always a great thing!

I was so excited to buy the BM plates because I've seen so many other bloggers do awesome manicures using those plates. The "gradient" image on plate 301 was one that I was so intrigued by because I love the look a gradient but not always the work it takes to create one. I used China Glaze Manhunt as the base for this manicure, and Sally Hansen Silver Sweep for the stamping. I think it looks so cool, this stamp is awesome.

Hounds-tooth Stamping

Happy Sunday and Happy Belated Thanksgiving to all you lovely Americans :)

I spent Black Friday (well Thursday-Saturday) shopping in Michigan! Boy was it crazy but pretty fun!
I thought I would have new polish to show you but I didn't purchase any! The only Ulta I went to was pretty cleared out :( Oh well!

I know this post is pretty late but I had painted my nails yesterday, only to have them chip at work :( Then today I rushed through this manicure and it didn't work out as I had planned, oh well.

I used two coats of Rapid Ruby by Rimmel, and stamped the Bundle Monster Hounds-tooth pattern with Sally Hansen Whirlwind White.

I was a little frustrated because first I dropped my cleanup brush in my acetone...then after letting my nails dry, some red still streaked into my pattern, and even though it had been a full 10 minutes after stamping, my topcoat still dragged some of the houndstooth pattern. Then right after I dented my right hand...which didn't come out perfectly. Needless to say I'm annoyed...and super frustrated.

Annoyingly streaky :(

It makes me feel like half the shot is blurry :(

The other side of my thumb was all streaked with red :(
Ya win some, ya lose some, and this one kinda sucked :( Oh well, I still love the pattern a LOT!
<3 Enjoy your Sundays.

Early Holiday Nail Art

Happy Saturday everyone! It snowed here (a teensy tiny bit) over the weekend! It made me so excited. I went to a "Christmas in the Village" tree lighting over the weekend and it got me into the Christmas spirit.

I was kindly asked by Nail Polish Canada to enter their Holiday Nail Art Contest and the first week's theme is "snow". I love Nail Polish Canada, especially their large selection of image plates, they even carry the new Bundle Monster plates and I'm crossing my fingers they'll get the MASH ones too!

I used Sally Hansen Blue Away, sponged OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls on top, then I layered China Glaze WhiteCap over top, and finally stamped the snowflakes with Konad plate m20, m59 and BM 14 with Sally Hansen Silver Sweep.

If you want to vote for me, or check out the other submissions (including the oh-so-talented Marta from Chit Chat Nails) then please go to the voting page! (and maybe vote for me?)

Black & Silver

Happy Friday!  Anyone going to be hunting down some black friday sales? My sister & some friends are venturing into Michigan, I hope she brings me back a present ;) Wednesday's/Yesterday's picture issue seems to have been fixed, so on with the show!

I've been seeing Marta post on instagram about an upcoming Cult Nails polish, which is a black with a wax finish and I NEEDED to try to replicate that polish. So I'm wearing OPI Crown Me Already on my pinky & index, and Cult Nails Nevermore on my thumb, middle & ring, and I mattified it.

This one was so fun & sparkly..I need to wear something like this again soon!

Have an awesome Friday loves <3

Hi Lovelies! Happy Thanksgiving! I have a little question for you all, since I'm having an issue with posting! So I tried to post today, and blogger is telling me I have used up my 1GB of free photo space? I think it has said this before and it was fine after a couple of days. Anyone know if this is actually the case or do I need to get a photobucket account (which I really don't want to do!)

Thanks! Hopefully I can get this sorted out and get back to posting.

Jade Hypnose

Good morning & Happy Tuesday! How is everyone? My weekend was relatively uneventful, my boyfriend came home for a visit/for an interview so it was nice to spend some time with him!

So, many people have heard of/seen/bought the Jade Holographic polishes, yes? Well I thought I was never going to get mine, and then I did, I wore them..and I haven't posted on them :(. Jen, Kirsten & I ordered them from Brazil before they were in other e-tailers..which meant that it took a few months to be sent to Jen..who then had to send them to Kirsten in BC..and finally me. Don't get me wrong, they were definitely worth the wait, and now that I have them, I love them!

Hypnose is such a beautiful bright blue and the nom nom. Sadly I took all my photos in my lightbox, so the holographic amazingness is not as obvious, but still, they are fantastic.

I can't wait for sunny days, even sad winter sunlight, it is so pretty!

An Early Christmas Manicure

Happy Sunday Friends :)

How was everyone's weekend? I didn't do too much, but I got into the holiday spirit trying to find a mini Christmas tree for my apartment (no luck, oh well).

I painted my nails China Glaze Holly Jolly, topped with Finger Paints Mistletoe Mischief. I then used China Glaze Phat Santa and Party Hearty on my accent nail. I tried to use the glitter to make a Christmas tree outline...but that didn't work at all! Oh well, try again next time!

Love the green :)

ignore my sad cut cuticle :(

I love Christmas themed anything and this manicure is simple and easy :) Can't wait to see everyone's upcoming holiday manicures <3

A England Lady of the Lake

Morning Lovelies! I'm sorry I've been absent this week. I hope your week went well, mine was very uneventful. If you follow me on twitter you know that I've been sick all week, and on top of it, semi-unemployed, as our teachers are on a work-to-rule (sort of strike) action, which results in not a lot of supply work (boo!). So, all in all, a very uneventful week for me, filled with cold medicine & daytime TV.

Anyways, I was poring through some photos and found this little beauty that somehow got lost in my photo folders. I used A-England Lady of the Lake, a gorgeous purple holo, and a Bundle Monster stamp, which I stamped in sort of a gradient, stamping less of the pattern on each nail as I went along. Sadly I could only take indoor photographs but still you can see somewhat of the beauty of Lady of the Lake.

I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday <3

And Now for Something Completely Different...

Hi loves & Happy Tuesday! If you get the title of this post, then yay, hugs for you!

If you follow me on twitter or instagram, you know that my descent into the nail world has bled over into the makeup world & at the age of 23, I am starting to actually wear and enjoy makeup! The Urban Decay Naked palette is so coveted in the makeup world, so when I saw that Quo had come out with a pretty amazing dupe, I HAD to have it. So, yesterday after some hunting, I found the Quo Back to Basics palette! Yay! So, if you want to see some pictures of this palette, and one I recently bought from TheBalm (featuring some terrible swatches!), then continue after the jump!

Pink Leopard

Good Morning & Happy Monday! How is everyone? I had a low-key weekend, a family photo & then a little birthday celebrating (my mom's was yesterday & my brother's was last tuesday!)

I've been craving a good pink leopard print, since I've been feeling uninspired lately, so this post will be relatively short and sweet. I used Zoya Layla and the BM leopard print plate and Cult Nails Nevermore.

Hopefully I'll be pretty busy this week, friday is a day off for all the school's here, so hopefully I'll get work for Monday-Thursday!

Sunday Snakeskin

Hello Sunday Readers!

This weekend I've been spending time with my family as today is my Mom's birthday and last Tuesday was my younger brother's birthday. As well we also got a family portrait taken...lots of family fun this weekend!

I went for a subtle manicure this weekend, using Rimmel's Grey Matter, stamping with the snakeskin print using Essie's Nothing Else Metals.

Topping it off I was trying out a new topcoat, so I used NYC's quick dry, In a New York Minute Top Coat. I liked it a lot! What a steal for $1.99!!

Photo time!

It's a little bit shiny, but yay for snakeskin

I would love to see the combo reversed
Hope you enjoyed this manicure! Happy Sunday everyone <3

Pink Lace

Hi loves! Wow, I can't believe it's November already. I have no idea where the time is flying! I even saw snow over the weekend, I am NOT prepared for that yet! This past weekend I was supposed to go to New Jersey/New York City, but due to the Hurricane, those plans were scrapped. Instead my mom and I went to London to see my sister, and my cousins! It was a really nice visit. We went and got our makeup done at the MAC store and went out for dinner on the Friday night, which was really fun! This upcoming weekend is my mom's birthday & we're getting a family photo done..yay?

This manicure is from the beginning of the month, sometime before Thanksgiving maybe? I'm not actually sure, I just found it floating around my computer! I tried to imitate one of the designs of the OPI Nail Apps (the one on the far right). I used OPI Mod About You, stamped with Bundle Monster 315, and then fishnet image from Konad m57, with Cult Nails Nevermore.

What do you think? I like how the paisley print looks under the fishnet, I'm going to have to wear this with different colours for sure!

Peacock Nails

Happy Sunday Loves!

I know this is after the fact, but Happy Halloween! The manicure I have for you guys today is the one I wore to my Halloween party on Wednesday!

I dressed up as a peacock and so I needed some nails to match!

I originally was going to gradient sponge, but I did my nails at the boyfriend's and forgot sponges..oops. Oh well, thank goodness for saran wrap!
For this look I first used NYC Greenwich Village, painting 1 coat on my nails, trying not to use too thick of a coat while also trying not to make it too sheer. I then used China Glaze's Shower Together, painting it over the top half of my nails. I waited for this to dry and then sponged on Rimmel's Night Before and Zoya's Charla to the middle-ish portion of my nail (trying to make a gradient effect) And then topping with seche vite. Lastly I used my new BM Plates and stamped over everything with Borghese Lira and topped with Seche Vite. Voila! I think it was a perfectly abstract peacock type manicure!

Sorry about the dry  hands :(

The purple wasn't as obvious as I had hoped

Well what do you think?!  I feel like this manicure was very Marta-inspired! She always has the best sponging/saran wrap manicures that I hope I did it justice! <3
