Green & Flakies

Hi lovelies! Happy Tuesday! How is everyone today? I'm planning my butt off this week! I am super tired, BUT that's ok..only 2 more weeks and then I get a week off for march break woohoo!

So I was staring at my Colorama Ruby Rays flakies the other day, trying to decide what to layer it over, and BAM I was like why have I never tried it with Essie Going Incognito? I LOVE how it looks, I know Ruby Rays doesn't shift too many colours, but I love how it looks over green.

On a side note, I am still so bitter at how tiny my ring finger nail is! When it's unpolished I'm all happy because it has a relatively substantial amount of free edge, but next to my other ones it just seems..ugly! *Sigh*..One day soon it will be long and normal.

Anyways, thanks for reading loves <3

Neon Polka Dots

Hi loves! Happy Monday! How is everyone? I'm looking forward to this week, I am teaching full-time, no teacher in the room, all my own style..it's so exciting!

So, I wanted to to enter Chalkboard Nails Dotting Competition, and I was thinking and thinking about what I wanted to do. Then I remembered this post of Deniz's that I had been wanting to try forever, so I decided to give it a whirl! I used Sally Hansen Celeb City as my base (I actually forgot I owned this colour :O) and then dotted with China Glaze Pool Party, China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy, China Glaze Japanese Koi, and Nina Ultra Pro in Neon Yellow.

I'm sure you all have seen this before, but I love how it turned out :)

Thanks for reading loves & don't forget to check out Sarah's blog if you want to enter the contest!

Mermaid Nails

Happy Sunday Loves!
If you've been following my posts you know I've been talking about doing a set of real mermaid nails since I saw these beauties on Cris's blog here. Aren't they amazing? Well first I had to find Mermaid's Tears from OPI, which at the time was hard to do so I settled for a dupe, Sally Hansen's Jade Jump (Thanks Marta! Also check out her Mermaid Nails!) Then I finally conquered ANOTHER lemming and was able to get China Glaze's Atlantis! Can't wait to wear this baby! To get this look, I used 1-2 coats (depending on the nail) of Jade Jump, topped with Shine of the Times by Essie (it doesn't show as much on camera) then stamped with NOPI Khloe had a little Lam-Lam. Then I (tried) to sponge on Atlantis (I really need to get this technique down) but it wasn't as good as I wanted it to be, kinda just smudged my polish. Boo. This was also taken awhile back when my nails were growing out from breakage. So ugly :(

Anyways onto the pictures! What do you think?
So sparkly

bottle shot

You can see some of SOTT on my ring and pinky finger
Yep, lots of pictures for you today! Hope you enjoyed it! I can't wait to try this look out again, I have so many mermaid-ish polishes to choose from I will be doing it again! <3

Blue Hearts

Hi loves! Happy Friday Loves! It's amazing this 4 day week, even though yesterday I said was thankful for a 4 day week, after yesterday & today, I take it back! So much goes on in a 4 day week. I'm exhausted!

So, the other day I decided I wanted to try out a design I meant for Valentine's Day..which I'm just getting around to now. I used Nina Ulta Pro in Blue Blaze..and OMG I hate this nail polish. SERIOUSLY..it dries matte, it's streaky and a biattttch. I don't like it. Anyways, after 4 coats of this bish, I decided to use Essie Watermelon and a dotting tool to make little hearts!

I think it looks super cute, even though I hated the polish! What do you think?

A Splatter Manicure

Hi loves and Happy Thursday! Wee almost Friday, which is awesome. February is just flying by for me, I can't believe it's almost March break. I sort of wish time would go slower, because I do NOT want to go back to classes in April, but I do want to finish Teacher's College!

Anyways, I was perusing some blogs the other day and I was looking at Chalkboard Nails, because I love Sarah's nails, and this splatter manicure caught my eye! It looked friggen amazing! I didn't have all the same colours but I tried my best! I used NOPI My Lifesaver as the base, then splattered with Essie Going Incognito, China Glaze Liquid Leather,Sally Hansen Blue Away, Sally Hansen Green With Envy and Orly Frolic!

I LOVE how this one turned out. I know it's such a mish mash of colours but I think they all work so well together! I cannot believe I have neglected my love of splatter manicures for so long!

Thanks for reading lovelies <3

Blue Polka Dots

Hi loves! How's everyone's Hump Day going? I am literally writing this as I'm making my lunch to go off to teach! My week is a little jam-packed, since we had a holiday on Monday (family), and last friday was a P.A. day for the students at my school, so two 4 day weeks in a row makes for cramming a lot of teaching into less days!

Anyways, whenever I am bored or not sure what to do with my nails, I have a couple of go-to sets of plates. One is m57 and the other is m79. I love polka dots, and usually those are what I end up picking. It was grey and rainy the other day, so I wanted to match the outside mood. I used Dr. Remedy's Healing Heather Grey and stamped the polka dot image with my konad special polish in light blue.

I really, really want my nails to grow faster. It bugs me that they are uneven!!! But the polka dots were cute, I wore them for about 3 days!

Purple Birthday Manicure

My lovelies! I am back, finally. You don't understand how much I have missed you. I didn't wear nail polish for about a week, and it was so difficult! My nails are recovering nicely, however, as you will see in the photos my ring finger (which suffered the most damage) is still MAJORLY short, but it has a small amount of free edge which is amazing to me!

Anyways, it was mine and Katy's birthday on Saturday and even though one would assume I'd go for something flashy, I was just drawn to a simple pattern, from BM 203. I used a base of Ulta Cocktails Anyone? and stamped it with China Glaze Light As Air. In the pictures, it looks sort of patchy, although in real life  I thought it looked nicer and very subtle!

Also, please ignore my index finger cuticle...we had a little incident and it was massacred :(

I liked this, although I really want to get back to wearing some blingy manicures. I just really need my ring finger to grow out a bit !

Anyways, glad to be back lovelies, hope you enjoyed Katy's manicures & my two lovely guest posters while I was recovering<3

Birthday Nails!

Hi Readers!
Yesterday was Elizabeth's and my birthday so I just want to show you the manicure I did to celebrate!
We'll keep this short and sweet! I used China Glaze Audrey, Milani Gems and I freehanded the presents myself!
Please excuse my pointer and middle finger and the dry cuticles, I tried and tried and tried to moisturize but it was SO dry out :(

Happy Birthday to Me! (and Elizabeth)

Mmm cupcakes ;)

I really wish I had a dotting tool!
Hope you enjoyed it! I loved being home with my family and I hope you all had a great weekend! <3

Guest Post-Oooh Shinies!

Hi my loves! I've got another amazing guest post on today! Bregje from Oooh Shinies has graced us with her pretty pretty nails <3 I love her so much, and her blog. I stalk her stamping manicures lots, and she has taught me so many things, including something that saved my stamping life, aka using an old corrector pen to get rid of excess stamping polish on your skin/cuticles!

Hi all :) The other day I told Liz that I've been a bit uninspired lately, but on that same day I found some of the new Catrice polishes in my local store. Instant inspiration! And after posting those polishes, Liz said that 2 of them looked awesome for stamping. So I tried stamping with one of them for this post, and I'm so happy with the result!
The polish was a little bit thin for stamping though, so I'm not sure how well it'll work on a different basecolor. But I might get another bottle of it and let it slightly open for a while, so it thickens a bit more, see if that helps!

Catrice Put Lavender On Agenda stamped with Konad plate m57 and Catrice Heavy Metallilac.

Thanks a lot for having me on your lovely blog Liz, and I hope your nails will soon be all happy & healthy again! <3

Thanks Bregje! I love it! <3 Hope you guys enjoyed what she cooked up for me !

Guest Post-Kellie Gonzo

Hi my lovelies! I know I've been gone for awhile & it might be a bit longer until I come back. My nails are slowly recuperating, but they're looking nice! Thankfully Katy has been holding down the fort for me since I've been gone! Anyways, today the lovely Kellie of Also Known As has graced us with her pretty pretty nails. I'm so thankful, but also drooling because I love Kellie's nails..and her site. She is the sole reason I ordered my first 5 BB Coutures, and will definitely order more. If you don't know what you're  missing, hop over to her site..drool a bit, then buy those BB Coutures!

Hey everyone! I am happy to have been asked by the lovely Liz of Life and Polish to do a guest post while her poor nubs are recuperating. She's a big sweetheart and I totally adore her!

This polish is from a European brand called P2 in the shade
Stormy. It's a beige grey with a stone-like subtle speckle of dirty gold. I saw it on another blog and had to have it! Luckily I was able to score it in a swap with a sweet international gal.

This is two coats. I believe it may compare to Sephora by OPI's Run With It. Hope you've enjoyed this glimpse into my tips ;) Take care and have a great week everyone!

Thanks Kellie! I love this polish! All you international lovelies, I am always so jealous of you and the amazing polishes from P2 and the like!

Valentine's Day Manicure!!

Happy Valentine's day everyone! What is everyone up to?
I will be spending from about 10am to 6pm at school and then I have to rush to work at 6:30 and serve A LOT!
I have a quick post for you today! Elizabeth is still on a break so I've got some lovely nails for you to see!
I used 3 thin coats of China Glaze's Velvet Bow, then I got bored and stamped over it using BM09 and finally I added Essie's Shine of the Times and topped it off with a matte top coat by Joe Fresh.
Picture overload ahead!!

I'd just oiled my cuticles, my bad

kinda looks like fire

so many colors

close up you can see how pretty she issss
Man I love Shine of the Times, I was telling Jacqui from the Scholarly Nail, that it's like my "frank's red hot sauce" cuz I put that shizzz on everything! What are you up to for Valentine's? Let me know in the comments!<3

My Pink Namesake

Happy Sunday Everyone!
I hope you've been enjoying my blog-takeover! I may not be as creative as Elizabeth, but hey, I get to show off some pink which I rarely wear!
Today I've got Zoya's Katy, a polish I just had to have and it's PERFECT! This was a one-coater! Gotta love it! I topped it off with Revlon's Top Speed because Seche Vite and Zoya don't play nice!
In the shade

So pink!

I then thought I'd jazz it up a little bit and try to stamp some houndstooth, using BM19. It didn't work...something about Revlon's top coat was making it smudge :(
Sad fail, and Zoya chips like a motherrrr this is less than 24 hours of wear...

Hope you've all enjoyed these posts, I know I have! It's nice to blog regularly once in awhile...but I definitely couldn't do it regularly! Thanks for all your comments and clicks, see you next week! <3

Pink Stripes

Hello Loves! Happy Saturyda! I hope everyone had a good weekend! Elizabeth, myself and our brother's birthday is in a week yay!

This is my third day in a row wearing pink...and I might have fallen a little bit in love with pink?
For this look I used OPI's Strawberry Margarita. This polish...took a LOT of patience. I attempted this 2 other times before this one finally worked. Definitely wait in between coats. 3 coats here. Then I added Sally Hansen Xtreme wear VIP Pink on index, middle and pinky. I then painted stripes on my thumb and index with Rimmel's Shocker (hard to capture) and two LA striping colors, one pink and one white.

Now, my camera HATED these polishes and didn't want to photograph them accurately in ANY light so I tried my best!
Photo time!

Love VIP Pink--blurry so you could see it

The far right stripe is actually shiny hot pink

My camera REALLY hated these pinks

This is mostly color accurate of Strawberry Margarita
Hope you enjoyed it! Check out my last post tomorrow before I go back to my regular schedule of Sundays!!

Flashy Pink Hearts

Happy Friday Everyone!
I'm keeping this short and sweet as I have 2 midterms today and a group project to complete for Sunday...and then I have another two midterms next week! Yeesh all this school work! So today I decided to do a simple stamping manicure. I used Rimmel's 60 Second polish in 808 Shocker (one from my ORIGINAL collection...before I even liked pink!) and stamped using BM 02 and Sally Hansen Whirlwind White. I only had to use 1 coat of Shocker (I was very careful and I've used this polish many times before) so it was super simple! Hope you enjoy it!

Some of the images didn't come out but I still like it

This is easily one of my favourite pinks ever

so cute!
And that's all for today! Hope you liked it, I know I did. I have a deep love for Rimmel's and this color is no exception! Let's see what I can come up with for tomorrow...it may involve my polish namesake ;)

Pink Sparkle

Hello lovely readers!
Elizabeth had to let her nails recuperate so I suggested stepping in for the rest of the week! I'm really excited to do this and it's going to push my creativity a bit as I don't have very many pink polishes...and I usually take my WHOLE week to think up nail posts, so doing back to back days is a lot!
Today I have a simple glitter layering manicure for you. I used 2 coats of Rimmel's Lasting Finish Pro called Pink Bliss. It was designed for french manicures but I find it way too sheer and if you don't layer you can never not have bald spots...oh well! I then threw on a layer of Sally Hansen's Strobe light and topped it off with a coat of Seche Vite.
Check it out!

I wish the pink were more opaque, it looks really nice on

I love strobe light, so glittery

Then I thought it would be fun to make it a glitter sandwich....This polish is not the best, it's almost too opaque but it still was pretty decent, it looked a lot cooler on the nail the sparkles showed through much better than my camera could capture but there was no real sun around to show you!

Sorry about my dry right cuticle...I swear I moisturized before...ah well such is winter

So friends, that's all I've got going on for today, I really need to find a polish that works for glitter sandwiches much better! Have a great Thursday and check back in tomorrow!

Valentine's and a Little Break...

Hi loves! Happy Wednesday! It's Hump Day! Today is my long day at school...I'm there from 8:30-4:30 BUT today I get to participate in a focus group for one of my courses and I get a free pizza lunch, YAY. So Hump Day isn't so bad!

Anyways, I have some sad news. I know I just nubbinized my nails all down, however, on Monday, I returned back to school and I took off my polish and ALL my nails were peeling/split and most of them split right down to the nail bed..no free edge left. SO, today is going the be the last post, since I don't have any other back up photos, until Monday, maybe Tuesday? I hate bailing on you all, but I need to give them time to heal, since clearly they are not a fan of something. I switched to Non-Acetone Remover..anyone know if that could be affecting them?

Anyways, I do have a pretty manicure for you today, it's 2 coats of China Glaze Go Crazy Red, then I took a french tip image from plate M80 and stamped it using Wet n Wild Black Creme! I think I'll have to try this look out again when my nails are longer!

I like to think I stamped this one pretty evenly...but it's still kind of wonky! Oh well!

Thanks for reading loves and hopefully I'll see you in a few days! Don't forget, Katy will be posting on Sunday to make up for my absence! <3

It's Kirsten's Birthday!

Hi loves! Happy Tuesday! Today is an awesome day, do you know why? Today is my love, my other other twin sister (not really), Kirsten's Birthday! Kirsten runs Glitta Gloves, which is an amazing blog, and I LOVE her. So because it's her birthday, today's post will feature an ode to her.

SO.. The 2 things I think of when Kirsten comes to mind is green and sparkles/glitter! So, I used Konad polish in green as my base, then Zoya Ivanka on my ring, since she made me buy it, and then I stamped with Sally Hansen Silver Sweep using the M57 plate for the zebra and leopard and BM14 for the cupcake!

I actually got so many comments on this manicure, so Kirsten..people love green, sparkles and animal print as well ;)

I love you girl, Happy Birthday! I hope today is a freakin' awesome day & I am so happy we're friends! Everyone run to her blog and harass her with some birthday love :)

Thanks for reading <3
