Stop and see the flowers with summer’s Nice Stems! by OPI, a limited edition collection featuring four new nail lacquers in stunning shades of pink. With whimsical names based on their floral inspirations, these vibrant, flirty colors range from pale, frosty pink to rich fuchsia.  Nice Stems! offers fingers and toes a perfectly pink shade for all of summer’s looks.
“These vibrant, feminine hues complement 60’s ladylike fashions, 70’s glam looks, and bold color-blocking, which are the season’s staples,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “The Nice Stems! collection also offers an interesting contrast and feminine accent to the punk and biker looks on the runways. “Using different micas and glitters can give lacquer a 3-dimensional look,” adds Weiss-Fischmann.  “I Lily Love You is a glitter coat that can be layered over any of the other three shades to add a bright sparkle; or, it can be worn on its own for a subtle tint of pink with strands of glitter.”
The Nice Stems! Nail Lacquers by OPI contain no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde, and feature OPI’s exclusive ProWide Brush for the ultimate in application.
This limited edition Nice Stems! collection will be available beginning June 2011 at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for  $8.50 ($10.95 CAN) suggested retail for each Nail Lacquer.

OPI Absolutely Alice aka Absolutely One of THE Best Glitter's Ever!

Good morning lovelies! Happy monday? No? Ok well then UGH Monday. How's everyone? I'm angry cause I spent 2 hours last night trying to figure out how to get amazon to ship me some plates..but they won't. WHY amazon...WHY. I just want stamping plates. GRR..anyways...

Today I have a polish that I am SO excited to wear and I can't believe I didn't wear it sooner. My lovely and amazing polish twin Kirsten offered to send me this because she had an extra to go to a good home and I almost died when she said she'd send it to me. AND she sent me other goodies. She is a dollface.
SO after getting OPI AA and not dying, I then kept waiting patiently for some good sunny days to come around so I could wear it and FINALLY I had some, and I instantly knew that I needed to wear it.

OPI Absolutely Alice, one of the coveted glitters from their Alice in Wonderland Collection is bright blue glitter with some gold glitter mixed in. So I will show you some pictures and let them do the talking! This is 3 coats, I could have done 4, since in my pictures it looks like I have bald spots, but when I look at my fingers, it looks fine. Damn cameras!

This one is blurred (sort of) so you can see the beauty in the sparkles. I loved it. I stared at my nails WAYY too much wearing this, driving is hazardous, FYI!

This last one is in low light, so you can see better the full coverage of the sparkles, and in my opinion, you can see the gold sparkles better!

MMMM! This going to the top of my favourites list, and I don't know when/where I can wear it next but I will. Now I just need to hunt down a bottle of Mad As A Hatter for a reasonable price, and I'll be happy :)
Thanks for reading loves and let me know what you think in the comments? Anyone else have this and love it? It's making me obsessed with glitters again and I need MORE! Happy Monday, hope this cheered all you Monday Blues-ers up!

Sunday sunday sundayyyyyyy

Hello friends,
this post is going to be short and sweet because a) there is no sun and my pictures suck and b) my nails are short and totally ug-layyyy. So my final grey manicure of the month for Zara

I once again used Rimmel's Grey matter and threw on this random N.Y.C. glitter that my cousin gave me...I'm pretty sure it's called Starry Silver Glitter but my cousin's sister-in-law used to work at the Sally Hansen factory and got her bottles without stickers so...that's my best guess.

Now onto the photos, sorry no bottle pics or swatches of Grey Matter, but you can see them here

we'll pretend I meant to blur this one...but yay glitter!
looking lovely in a bottle...weird blue cast...eh inside pics suck, sorries
yay for glittery nails

Yup, nothing too exciting but when you have short nubbins you need to cover them up (and trust I have short fat fingers and baby nails...blech). I bet if you look back at my posts, most of them have my hand in front of the window, or the bottles. It's my go-to...I should find a new spot. Also I need to make a light box...and steal my sister's tripod...and her camera. My pictures suck! DAH! I promise to get better sometime in 2011
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed my two posts this weekend, both for Zara! See you next month!

2nd Last Grey Manicure of the month

Hey guys!
So this is my second grey manicure in support of Zara over at Never Unpolished and Brain Tumor Awareness month.

I'm featuring another scotch tape mani (because my skills are SUPER limited) using Revlon Royal and Revlon Hazy. Now I would've done Hazy as the main colour but it's formula was TERRIBLE. I put on two coats and went to work 5 hours later and dented it...yeah boo. Also it peeled off in FULL nail strips, so...yay for not using acetone to remove it? yeahh...
Since Elizabeth has already featured Royal you can check out her swatches here.

Under my lamp (sorry won't have sun for days :( boo)
pretty true to IRL
A nice cloudy shot...
Anddd another close up
haha you can almost see me in one nail!
Sorry that I forgot a bottle pic but it really wasn't capturing, started looking very blue and not at all grey or grey tinged. I hate this rainy weather!
Anyways, I STILL hate Revlon's Hazy because SIX hours after I wore this, with SV and dried with a hair dryer, 4 of my nails were dented. GAHHH so lame. Maybe it's just my bottle? Anyone else out there worn this colour and hated the formula as well?
Look out for me tomorrow with another post!

Stash Pics! (Very Picture Heavy)

Hi loves! Since my nail polish collection has grown quite exponentially (for me) in the last 4ish months, I decided I'd show you all just how I store my collection so far. It's a very small collection, all things considered, but I'm amazed I amassed so many since I started blogging in January, and I was on a 40 day no buy...anyways! I have roughly 110ish (give or take) polishes, which is TINY compared to most people BUT I'll show you my current available space (aka lack of) and why even this small amount is a problem (not really).

So, this was how I began to store my polish, it's in a 4 drawer rolley cart, and it's by brand and in each brand I attempted by colour!

Then, this bucket originally was my overflow/untrieds bucket, except you can see how I am lacking in space in that...and I just reorganized and its all filled up!
And, just for fun, here is my nail polish, divided up by colour! I bet you think you know what colour I have most of...aka Pink..since I show my love for it with Pink Wednesdays, but I actually have more purple, then pink, then blue (surprisingly), then green!
Blue

Green

Sad, lonely whites

also sad and lonely blacks

wayy more orange than you thought I would have right?

reds

YAY pinks!

Pretty pretty purples

very lonely browns

silver

and lastly, yellow
So..now that I have overflowed my overflow bin..I need to get another one..or another way to store my polish. Maybe it is Melmer time...Anyone know how many a Melmer holds? Also what do you think of my stash? Pretty small eh? But it's growing..I'm just trying to keep it in check! Thanks for reading lovelies :)

*Also, yesterday was my 100th post! I'm so proud of myself and I can't believe I have so many followers, I really really appreciate all of you who check out my blog/leave me comments, it really means a lot to me! Pink Wednesday and Some More Born Pretty Goodies for you!

YAY! Happy Wednesday all you wonderful people! I just wanted to say how happy this day makes me! I always look forward to showing off my love for pink nails (or pink anything) and seeing everyone else's take and favourite pink shades! Remember, we're all listed on On Wednesdays We Wear Pink and if you want to join the badge is on there, so grab it & let us know so we can add you to the list!

Anyways, today I have a 2 for 1 kind of post, since I'm showing you China Glaze 108 Degrees from their 2011 Island Escape collection as well as the other Born Pretty nail art items I was given for review! But first, lets take a look at this beauty of a pink nail polish, shall we?

Like the other shimmers in this collection, 108 Degrees is a dark pink glass fleck polish and it's gorgeous. It's along the lines of Ahoy! but not as dark raspberry! (Kirsten has a comparison post here if you want to check it out). Sadly I didn't have sun when taking these, so the first picture is with flash, the second with out!

Then, Born Pretty, in addition to the rhinestone wheel, sent me a wheel of pearls to review and try out. They come in different sizes, as you can see below.
So, like before I decided to do a little konad and add the pearls on as accents. I used my konad special polish in white, and the butterfly design from plate m39 and added the pearls to the middle of the butterflies.
Personally, the pearls were too heavy, in my taste for the manicure, but that doesn't mean I don't love them! I want to use some of the bigger ones, I just need to be more creative! Like the rhinestone wheel, the pearl wheel retails for $4.14 a wheel, but less if you buy in larger quantities. Feel free to check out Born Pretty and all they have to offer, or click their banner on my sidebar to go to their website.

Happy Pink Wednesday everyone :)

Nfu Oh 61 (a little pic heavy)

Hi loves! Happy Monday!

I am so excited to show you this nail polish, mainly because I can't believe I got my hands on it and it's so pretty I'm dying. I have to confess something though, I had NO IDEA what this polish looked like when I bought it. FabulousStreet emailed saying they had Nfu Oh's back in stock and I was talking to my polish twin love (Kirsten) and I was all "what Nfu Oh's do I need" and she basically was like "WTF YOU DON'T KNOW? Get 51 & 61 ASAP". So I did. I know what 51 looks like, but I blindly bought 61. Then when I was waiting for them to arrive, I decided to google 61. And I died. Literally. BEST purchase ever HAHA. I can't believe I didn't know...(now you all think I'm insane) LOL.

Anyways, less rambling, more pictures! This polish is amazing, although the bottle scared me because I have to say, it does not look holo in the bottle AT ALL. I thought it was like when people probably ordered OPI MPJ only to find out they got the crappy non-holo version. I was sad. BUT again, Kirsten was all childdddddddd no crying and showed me a swatch she did on her nail wheel..I was happy again.

OK! On to pictures! This is about 3 coats (4 on some nails where I sucked at applying) and NO top coat or base coat. And I'll let the pictures do the talking!

*sigh* I really have no words other than this is SO pretty. I was going to konad over it, but then I didn't want to ruin it and I just wanted to enjoy it on its own!

And, if you want to see it in motion, I added a quick little video! Sorry there is no sound/music on the video! I'll get better next time :)

Thanks for reading :) I hope you all enjoy this gorgeous polish & talk to some of you soon. Any suggestions for other youtube videos? Let me know in the comments :)

Green Nails of the Day

Hey Friends,
My second official Sunday post yay!
So today I was feeling creative and played around with an accent finger detail. I don't love how it turned out but that's mostly my fault. Y'all...I SUCK at applying creme polishes...or any polishes that are prone to be draggy and streaky. I'm not patient enough/have a steady hand or know how to do them properly so they kind of suck.
Also i was attempting to edit pictures, crop etc, but I realized is in any light except real sunlight my camera is always super blurry in close up's or cropped photos so sorry, until we have actual sunlight my photos remain not close ups/crops...and are on the blurry side. I guess once I get a job again I should look into a new camera.
I used Sally Hansen Grass Slipper, Revlon Electric (which I stubbornly refuse to give up on because I love yellow even though I mangle it's application all the time...I've put it on 3 times as a full mani and messed it up)
and finally I used China Glaze's Shower together (love it) for the dots

so damn BLURRY

such pretty colours...I WILL MAKE ELECTRIC WORK ahsdlkjfsdfl;

This is what happened when I tried cropping...fail

I'm glad that my camera is blurry enough you can't see how much of a fail some of these nails are...anyways hope you're all having a lovely Sunday :)

Born Pretty Review

Hi loves! Today I have something really pretty to show you! A while back I was contacted to review some items from the Born Pretty store, and I received a rhinestone wheel and a wheel of pearls.

Today I'm going to show you the rhinestone wheel and I am so excited!

The rhinestones come in a little wheel like this, it has 12 colours of flat-backed rhinestones, so many pretty colours to choose from.

Since I was so excited to use this,  I decided to do a stamp design and put the rhinestones on as an accent. I used China Glaze Papaya Punch which is a FANTASTIC colour. It seems to be in the similar family of China Glaze Sun Worshipper, just not neon, and it is almost opaque in 1 coat, fully opaque in 2. The only thing is, as a creme, it is a little prone to dragging, so wait a bit between coats to avoid this.

Shade

Sun

Then I stamped it using Konad Special Polish and Bundle Monster Plate 03 and added orange rhinestones as an accent :)

The rhinestones were really easy to apply and after a coat of topcoat, they were not going anywhere! I love them and the fact that they add a little something extra to your nail designs!

These rhinestone wheels are available for $3.33 each (or less if you buy larger quantities) and they have other wheels as well, such as pearls and sequins! Go to bornprettystore.com to check it out! I love them, and you will definitely see more manicures with these added! Thanks for reading :)
