Nicole by OPI: Freshly Squeezed..and my new love, Orange Polish

Hi lovelies! How's everyone today? Today's polish is making me scream for summer, but it's still spring-ish here:(

So some of you may have already seen this polish on my love Kirsten (GlittaGloves) site, and well it's all her fault. I saw this one and I HAD to have it. I don't even really like orange nail polish..until this one..and now I am in love. Orange is a colour that looks TERRIBLE with my skintone and hair, and yet I don't care I will wear it on my nails!

This one, Freshly Squeezed, is seriously a beauty and if you don't have it already you NEED it. It's so summery and cheerful, it's awesome. It's a light orange packed with some serious glitter! It is a little sheer, so I actually used 4 coats, but it was 4 thin coats, so I didn't mind.

Ok, let's all take a look & try not to drool:
Sorry about the weird texture on my ring finger..I don't know what happened

Look at that shine & shimmer

Ps. This bottle is hard to hold onto and photograph the nails with!
Mmmm! I love this colour and I loveeeee orange now! What about all of you? Anyone else have a colour they thought they hated & then loved? What was the polish that turned you on? Let me know in the comments, we can chat about it! Take care lovelies!

My Royal Manicure

Happy Friday Loves! How many of you woke up at some godawful hour to watch the Royal Wedding? No one? Just me?....Ok...WELL..because of this fun wedding I decided to attempt a royal manicure. What makes it royal? Well nothing really, I just assume that purple is a royal colour & I used a crown stamp from my new bundle monster plates, but hey it's royal to me!

So I used Sinful Daddy's Girl as my base, and  let me tell you all, this polish is a beauty! Its a deep purple jelly with glitter and I love it. I got it from the lovely Jasmine, as she is such a doll & sent me a bunch of polishes that I can't get here, including Sinful colours.

See how Jelly-like? This was 4 thin-ish coats, and I probably would have done 5, although the VNL doesn't bother me because the polish is so beautiful.

Then I used my  bundle monster plates (EEE so excited they arrived) and the image from BM08, to konad a crown onto my ring finger!
A wild right hand appears
And there you go! Royal manicure! I probably could have jazzed it up more, but I liked it all the same. However, I do have to say that Daddy's Girl and my China Glaze Fast Forward did NOT play well (I don't know if you can tell in the pictures) but they didn't want to dry. Maybe I didn't let the Sinful dry enough between coats, I'll have to try it again.

So what do you all think? Love the manicure but hate the wedding? Love both or hate both? Let me know, I'd love to hear from you & chat with some of you in the comments & Happy Friday!

We Want to Invite You to Sit With Us For the Rest of the Week...

And on Wednesdays...We Wear Pink!

This is probably my favourite part of the movie (I say this all the time) but it makes me love the Plastics...<3 And so since I have a new favourite part of the movie, I have a new favourite pink! After seeing so many bloggers write about Essie Watermelon, I had to go snag it for myself, and OMG LOVEEEEEEEE. I'm finding that I love Essie's formula more and more, and this one was great, it was sort of watery but when you put it on your nails it didn't flood the cuticles, it applied so easily and it was awesome.

Now, my pictures are pretty accurate BUT it is overcast and cloudy so I sadly couldn't get any sun photos, so please bear with me. I hate when it's overcast, you can take pictures..but mine always seem a little darker than I'd like.

This is relatively close..maybe a little bit darker, like picture 2

With Flash, trying to get the pink to show properly, because it is so pretty...*sigh*
*sigh* I hate cloudy days...I tried guys..I did...oh well. It is gorgeous AND I am wearing a pink shirt to match it is Wednesday..and on Wednesday We Wear Pink...or else you can't sit with us! So let me know what you think, if you are wearing pink or if you just wanna chat, I hope to talk to you all in the comments. You can also check out the other plastics at On Wednesdays We Wear Pink

A quick exam break post featuring BLUE!

Hey everyone!
I know, it's been awhile, I'm sure you guys have missed me (well probably not...) but I've been busy studying, and busy gathering new colours! Also I was kind of without a camera for awhile (I lent it to Liz while my parents had hers) and I had some pretty awesome manicures so I'm a little sad I couldn't post those for you but oh well! I'm almost done exams and seeing as I currently have no job lined up I'll have so much free time to devote to painting my nails and making my manicures a lot more exciting!

Anyways onto today's post. I recently just went out to Sally Beauty and bought quite a few Finger Paint nail polishes and the one I have for you today is Cerulean Seascape. Its SUCH a gorgeous colour and April is Autism Awareness month, hope on over to Colour Coated to check out Jasmine's entire month of blue nails!
Definitely makes me wish it was lovely and sunny out (it's currently pouring rain...and is supposed to until Thursday boo)
Upfront I'm going to apologize for the slightly out of focus pictures. My camera is not the best and since it's not sunny out it couldn't seem to get a lot of pictures that were 100% clear. Just another reason that I need a new camera, or to make a light box...

See? such a nice colour!

somewhat similar to Revlon's Royal (if it were iridescent and not a jelly)

so nice! (sorry wish I had better shots)

Anyways, next up I wanted to show you guys my entire collection. I have grown from 2 not so good top coats, a teal, 2 pinks and a black to almost 30 different shades! (I lied on twitter, I only have 29 colors...damnnn oh well I'll be out this week and will surpass 30 haha)
Again my pictures would NOT work, but I'll throw one in just so you can get the idea...

Now, to most nail polish bloggers, this is small...or one day's haul, but since I've only been buying for about a month I think it's pretty decent! Still have a ways to go, but I am trying my best to wear ALL the colours I own...currently I have about 6 or 7 left to try, which will probably turn into 15 or more by the end of the week!
Anyways hopefully I'll be posting later this week and more often from now on and you guys can always reach me on twitter at "cattylangille" and I hope to talk to you guys in the comments!

Get To Know You Monday

My lovelies! How is everyone's easter monday? I am relaxin', not doing a heck of a lot, other than some nail painting, hanging out on twitter (my obsession..) andddd watching lots of tv! I don't have a post scheduled for today, unfortunately, because I had a lot of fam jams this weekend, which sadly didn't leave a lot of time for changing my nails & getting some posts set up.

I have a formspring account set up  and I would love it if you would jump on over there. Feel free to just tell me a little bit about your self, ask me questions, tell me if there is something you want to see more of on my blog, something you don't like..even criticize me (if you feel the need). You can be anonymous on formspring, sign in or leave me your name in your question! I want to get to know you/let you get to know more about myself!

I'll be back with regular posting this week, but I really hope some of you throw me some questions or comments on my formspring, or if you want it to be a private question, feel free to email me at elizabethmlangille(at)gmail(dot)com!

Easter Manicure

Hi Lovelies! Happy Easter! Hope you all got lots of chocolate! :) This is my manicure for easter/church/my grandma's house. I did these kind of rushed, because my family & I went out to the advanced polls to vote. But, I like them anyways.

I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Mellow Yellow for the base, and Sally Hansen Tutti Frutti to stamp with and the butterfly & flower image from Konad plate m39. I know my stamps are a little off, I tried to make the flower image be on the edge of my nail, which was because I failed to get the first one centred, but then I failed on centering the flower.'s not that centred but I like the bright colours & it seems springy & cute! What do you all think? Did you have a fun easter manicure? I hope to talk to some of you in the comments

Purple Stripes

Hi Lovelies! How's everyone today. Have you ever had a day where you try about 607478234072384728 things and nothing works? Ok, well not that many times..BUT today I wanted to watermarble..I tried that with 4 different colour combinations and it was NOT working. Then I tried 3 different konad WAS not working either UGH. So I finally pulled out my striper brush and settled on this design. This was going to be my easter design, BUT I decided it wasn't cute enough, so as you read this, I'm removing it! LOL

Once again I am wearing Sally Hansen Instra Dri Lively Lilac, then I used my Kiss Striper Brush in White to make the lines, and then finally I layered in China Glaze White Cap..oh White Cap..I LOVE YOU..and this is the result..
It was raining out, so it didn't really capture the sparkle..

In my lightbox to show off White Cap and how pretty she is

What do you think? Like this look? Hate it? OCD about lines (I understand that)..I wish there was a konad for lines like this but I can imagine how hard that would be to line up! Anyways I look forward to hearing your thoughts & hope to talk to some of you in the comments :)

Revlon Minted

Hey lovelies! So today I have one of the last polishes of my collection & I don't know how I feel about it. I'm wearing Revlon Minted, which is a nice minty green colour..but..OMG my loves the formula of this polish was TERRIBLE. It was so thick and gloopy and ugh, I fought with it all the way. I definitely like the overall effect but getting here was a battle. I konaded over top of it with plate m79. I really like this design & overall the manicure is pretty cute in my mind.

I think it gives me a case of lobster hands, but overall I'm liking the effect. What do you guys think? Anyone agree with me about Revlon? Let me know in the comments!

Girl World is like Jungle World

Hi lovelies! It's Pink Wednesday again! Well, I already gave you an homage to my love for mean girls and their "animal world" metaphor..but just because I am gonna give it to you again.
I tried the zebra print, but I didn't think that did the animal world justice, so I have another one for you today. I'm wearing a super old Sally Hansen, I have had it for at least 3 years, I don't even know if they make them like this, it is the Salon brand, not Salon manicure, in the square bottle. It is called Mango-loco which is SO confusing to me, because aren't mangos orange, not pink? Whatever, it is pink & I am pretty sure I'm still part of the plastics with this colour ;)
I konaded using the m57 and leopard print, which is probably my new fav stamp. It was SO EASY to use, the easiest so far.

What do you think? I think its a nice animal world/girl world homage ;) It really is a jungle out there sometimes....HA. Anyways let me know your thoughts & please go check out my other lovely plastics Glitta Gloves & Jasmine, as well as our ever-growing army at (and JOIN! You know you love pink & the plastics ladies ). OK I am off to write my last ever exam in my entire University YAY!

Revlon Royal

Hi Lovelies, Happy Monday! I am excited because it is almost Easter which means my lent challenge is almost over. AND I have worn/photographed almost every colour I own. I'm pretty proud of myself.

Anyways today I have Revlon Royal for you, which is a pretty royal blue colour, it's awesome. I don't normally love blues but this one is bright enough that it's not navy but no where near a baby blue. Also, it's a jelly so, c'mon it's amazing. It goes on relatively sheer but after 3 coats it was perfect! The only thing I'm afraid of is staining. I double base coated my nails so hopefully that helps!

If you don't have this colour, I definitely recommend picking it up! I think to jazz it up I might layer white cap over it, so if that looks good, maybe I'll take a picture! So what do you think? Own it? Love it? Let me know I look forward to hearing your thoughts!

China Glaze Coconut Kiss & Some Konad

Hi loves! Today I'm wearing a polish that I already showed you (*gasp* I KNOW) but I felt that I didn't do it justice, so I included it in my Lent Challenge roster of polishes to wear. So China Glaze Coconut Kiss is a really gorgeous purple with a hint of shimmer, its a nice warm purple too and I love this colour! So I added some konad to it using the bow image from the plate m03. I got inspired seeing Kirsten's post with bows, and I haven't tried this stamp yet, so here we go!

Pretty right? At least I think so! This manicure is cute & every time I look at it, it cheers me up! What do you guys think? I know my bows aren't 100% even but I still like it!

I have also added a formspring button on my top right of my sidebar, I think I mentioned this once, but I'm going to mention it again. Please feel free to ask me questions that you don't want to post in comments or email, as the questions can be completely anonymous! I always look forward to feedback/hearing your thoughts, so even if its to let me know something you don't like about my blog or what I can improve, have at it!

Thanks for reading & I look forward to what you think! <3

OPI DS Sapphire

Hi Lovelies! So in an attempt to wear more blue for Autism Awareness (which is the month of April) I decided to pull out OPI DS Sapphire, since I have only worn it once, in my first ever patchwork attempt. I do really like this colour. It took me like 4 thin coats to make it opaque, but I still love it. Also it doesn't really like China Glaze Fast Forward as a top coat, so you can see some weird bubbling/lumpiness in my nails which is from that. I had to take these pics in a light box & with my sister's cam which I am not familiar with so please bear with me :)

It is really holographic, so it's really rainbow-y and pretty and very silver-y with a hint of blue! I like it! What to do you guys think? I definitely want to pick up more of the OPI DS series! Let me know! I love hearing from you all!

Regina said she'll talk to Aaron. And now she is. How can Janis hate her? She's such a good... SLUT!

That's right ladies, It's wednesday, which means another round of Pink, because bitches I'm cold shiny plastic and I like it that way ;)

In my head that sounded funny, out loud..I don't know.

Anyways, today I have a pink that I have owned for like 3 years, it is part of what I call my "original stash" aka my nail polish collection before I was into nail polish..which had about 7 colours, 4 of those 7 being pink..yes I love pink.
So this is Sally Hansen Salon Manicure in Fruttie Pettutie. It's a bright pink shade and I love it (obviously!)

I also love this bottles and the brushes, I really need to own more of these colours, because if they are all the same formula as this one, then I am sold.

And, just for fun, since everyone else posts Kitteh pictures (but I don't have a cat 'cause I'm allergic) I will show you my puppy, aka my 13 year old miniature schnauzer Abbie, in her natural habitat, aka sleeping:
SEE. Cute! LOL she also has a christmas collar on because my mother and I are too lazy to change it, and whenever we take her collar off she runs around as if she were shouting "I'm freeeeeeeee", so we just left it.

Ok bitches, so who else loves my pink? You better, or you can't sit with us! Wanna see the other plastics & their manicures? Jump to On Wednesdays We Wear Pink to see the other ladies, or join yourself if you wanna sit with us every wednesday!

*ALSO. My Giveaway ends tomorrow at 12am my time, central time, so any entries after that time will not count! I'll try to have the winner announced by friday or saturday. Good Luck!*

Dupes? Yes? Well...Not Quite

So today I have a dupe post for you that I made like a month back & then never posted, and because my parents took my camera to NYC for the weekend, I don't have a camera until they get back :( So I'm sorry that these photos are pretty bad, since it was a while ago that I took them and I was still trying to learn how to use my camera. Don't hate y'all!

My very first bottle of China Glaze polish I ever bought is called "Go Crazy Red" which is part of their core collections. I don't usually like red, but it was christmas time, and I wanted a red. I have only worn it once, and this was before learning of SV, so I ruined my manicure and never wore it again. Then, one day while shopping with my sister, she convinced me to buy OPI Vodka & Caviar from the Russian Collection a) because i'm IN LOVE with that entire collection and b) I only owned 1 red. Then the other day I realized they looked really similar in the I decided to try 'em out and see if they were please..look at these pics and see for yourself.
In sunlight (whoops, I didn't realize you could see that my thumb wasn't painted..LOL i was too lazy to swatch it too)

In shade

Angle to see shimmer in Go Crazy Red
As you can see, there is a slight difference, Go Crazy Red is a bit lighter, because of the golden shimmer in it, but other than that I think they are soooooo close. I think it's kinda funny that I would pick basically the same colours, just one as a creme & one as a shimmer. I love 'em both though!! What do you think?

*Also, Reminder* My giveaway ends on April 14th (this thursday!) at 12am my time (central time). If you haven't entered you have until then to enter! Also, remember to check out this post by Glitta Gloves for Giveaway Hints/Advice. I'm hoping to announce the winner on friday or saturday! :) *

Black Shatter & Justin Beiber

Lovelies! I haveeeeeeee shatter! YAY world. I am so happy. And, so I instantly knew what to put it over. My Justin Beiber, I mean *ahem* Nicole by OPI Justin Beiber My Lifesaver. It is THE best combo, I am staring at my nails I love them (even though they are still SOO short..grow faster nails please)

So what do you think? Are you all tired with shatter? I am not (since I just got it) but it makes me so much more excited for the ones to come! Tell me what you think? If you hate it, I'm sorry I might be wearing it a lot in the next little while...

Dr. Remedy's Nails Review Part Two & Three

Hi loves! So earlier this week I showed you the first of three Dr. Remedy's Nails polish (you can check that out here, if you missed it, and today I have the other two colours for you, Desire Dark Brown and Revive Ruby Red. Desire Dark Brown is called "a cocoa-meets-hot fudge handsome hue" and Revive Ruby Red is "a shimmer-infused, Wizard of Oz-inspired shade of crimson".

Now, I have to warn I had to cut down my nails because they were all breaking. And..they are nubbins. And ugly in my point of view. So I'm sorry. They are really ugly. But, I hope that doesn't detract from the nail polish I have to show you.

Ok, so up first is Desire Dark Brown:

It is a really rich shade, and again I don't own anything like it, but I love it. Aside from my ugly short ass nails, the colour is wonderful, the formula is great and it is a beautiful shade. Not unusual, there are probably dupes, but it's still really pretty.

The we have Revive Ruby Red:

Again, the formula was really great to work with, and it's so pretty. I really like this shade of red, maybe because it's not bright or orange-y, and you know that I love me some shimmer.

So, overall, I love these shades, they have a great formula and I think that the premise of being healthy and safe, without the harmful chemicals is great.

And again, in case you missed it, here is some more information about the company:

Dr.’s REMEDY® is a line of doctor-inspired cosmetics that is dedicated to using clean, hypo-allergenic ingredients. The birth-child of two New
York-based podiatrists, Dr. Adam Cirlincione and Dr. William Spielfogel,
